Creative lists

[edit]

Whether you think they are creative or not isn't relevant. Wikipedia legal counsel has told us that such lists cannot be reproduced because they are creatively produced. All of our similar articles on Channel 4's various Top 100 programs were deleted as a result of that opinion, and the list component of this article is the same. If you reinsert that material, I will block you from editing as a result. Do not restore the list to that article.

warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Interleukin 1 family. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jytdog (talk) 15:20, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nations and intelligence, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages SNP and GWAS. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Multiple accounts

[edit]

"Lord and Sovereign of Truth" is a new account that was created less than an hour ago to support World Champion Editor on the Nations and Intelligence article. He also seems to be logging out in order to edit war. [1] I think this needs to be reported at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations.

Would you be willing to make a report there? I think that's only possible for registered users to do, and it's the only real recourse if he's going to be using multiple accounts. 103.47.145.160 (talk) 05:40, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@103.47.145.160: reported.--The Master (talk) 06:00, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, it seems the sock puppets all are blocked now, at least until he makes more of them.

I hope you'll continue to participate in these articles. You seem knowledgeable and level-headed, and the articles need more people like that. 103.47.145.151 (talk) 19:38, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for encouragement. --The Master (talk) 01:20, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@103.47.145.151: It seems some related articles are biased.
On the one hand, perhaps it is a right thing to some degree. Although a group's average cannot determine an individual's IQ, (e.g. I am an east Asian. My group have the highest average IQ but I have a low IQ.) but most people have logical fallacies and don't think so. It can have negative effect on people's performance. (doi:10.1006/jesp.2001.1491)
As a popular site, it will be a responsible choice to be environmentalist to encourage people, regardless the mainstream view among intelligence researchers.
On the other hand, not only the public, other researchers read Wikipedia, too. It's okay if they are familiar with the intelligence literature and don't take Wikipedia very seriously, but if they aren't familiar with it, a biased article may make a wrong impression to them and disrupt scientific investigations.
So it presents a dilemma to me. After reading some old Wikipedia posts regarding R&I related users, I find it an extremely time-consuming thing to edit related topic, so I may not be actively engaged in neutralizing them in the near future. But my mind could change if I have more time to do so or they go too far.--The Master (talk) 13:37, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings

I'm very sorry that you have been continually harassed by the sockpuppeter that insists on attacking your language skills – they really aren't bad at all. 我在中文版没敢干什么(我的中文太差了. 写文章我就做不了, 但是我的阅读能力还可以)。 我想在未来做些中英文翻译: 如果您不介意的话, 以后我能不能向您请教些技术问题? 谢谢!Have a nice day! @Me, Myself, and I are Here: Thank you for encouragement. Of course I would like to help anything I can. Be brave to write things in Chinese language, and I can help to correct them. Just notify me if you write in Chinese Wikipedia. It will be an easy thing for a native speaker. And please help me to correct my language mistakes if you have time. Thank you!--The Master (talk) 02:55, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! If I translate anything into Chinese in the future, I will be in touch. Much of what I do in the English Wikipedia is fixing grammatical errors, and I am happy to continue doing that. Best of luck. Me, Myself & I (talk) 03:00, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What sources do you currently have at hand about IQ testing?

[edit]

Hi, 維基小霸王 (little hegemon of the wiki),

I wonder what sources you have at hand as many editors begin collaboratively updating and improving the article Intelligence quotient. In my experience bringing the article IQ classification to good article status, and winning the Million Award with other editors while bringing English language to good article status, it is very important to first of all look for reliable, secondary sources to update any article on Wikipedia. Do you have any reference books about the article topic at hand? If you have access to any good library system, you should be able to find a lot of good books about the IQ concept and IQ testing in those libraries, for example the books listed in the Intelligence Citations bibliography I maintain in Wikipedia user space. See you on the wiki. 再见。 -- WeijiBaikeBianji (Watch my talk, How I edit) 18:18, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have some ebooks and I can go to the National Library to read other books, but it takes some time. --The Master (talk) 02:54, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
