Edit warring

[edit]

You are adding the same things repeatedly to the Tamil Language article. There is a discussion open on the talk page regarding the issue. If some one reverts your edits, do not add it back (see WP:BRD), discuss it in the talk page, to achieve consensus. Blindly adding it back is edit warring. It is considered disruptive in wikipedia and may lead to you being blocked from editing.--Sodabottle (talk) 12:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question to Mr Spaceman, Mr Sodabottle. Does any of you read the discussion forums. The line entries Tamil in Manipur and Tamil in Gujarat seems to be getting deleted in spite of references being provided for the same in the discussion page and article page. Can you please explain your actions?

There is clearly a link given to Tamil temples in Manipur. But it appears you do not read the page.

The line clearly states "Small groups of minorities speak Tamil in these places....

I think you are being disruptive.

Personal insults and sarcasm will get you nowhere. Did you read the discussion i opened at all?. Did we deny that there are tamil speakers in Manipur?. The concenrn we were raising were we cannot add every state that has tamil speaking minorities (because all states in india have tamil speaking minorities). And i provided a link to the list of tamil speakers in other states. We already have the top 5 states from the list. Obivously we cannot add all states that have Tamil presence, so i added a "other" with a link pointing to the main article. You are fixated on gujarat and manipur and insulting people who are trying to reason with you. And now you are edit warring logged out. Thats a sure way to get yourself blocked.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:33, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
States of India by Tamil speakers - this is the list i am talking about. All Indian states are in this list. Gujarat is no 9 and Manipur is no 24. Since we cannot obviously add all 34, we have added the top 4 and a link to this list mentioning "others". --Sodabottle (talk) 14:40, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by "personal insults and sarcacism"? Manipur is a small state and yet has a good presence of Tamil culture. The cross border trade with Burma is controlled to a large extent. So is business Gujarat, where Tamils are in good proportion. You are using a comparison by whole population. Scientific? Have you visited the country Bangladesh? Yes the hidden secret is the forgotten Tamils there. There is a sizeable number and do some research (outside of the Internet) - I am sure you will do that. OK, I dont care if I am blocked. Wikipedia is supposed to hold the truth but obviously we have a stumbling block of too many "experts". The discussion forum had the links. You are free to block anyone because I suppose you are one of the owners of Wikipedia. It is your right and not mine. But that does not hide the truth. If you are insulted, excuse, but you are successful in blocking the truth. Congrats. --தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk) 16:32, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear friend, cool down. No one here is disputing what you said. Are you making a case that Manipur Tamils should be included because they are asignificant part of the population, culture or mercantile activity in the cross border area ? If so then it is significant. But is it your personal experience or do you have reliable sources to back it up? In Wikipedia, we dont write the truth, but what we write should have been published earlier by somebody else, that too a reliable source. An academic source would be better. I hope as a newbie you will learn that sooner than later. Dont give up on Wikipedia and walk away. Wes hould be in Wikipedia to increase the knowledge about what we care. How about writing an article called Manipur Tamils to begin with reliable sources not websites ? Kanatonian (talk) 19:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir, I am almost in give up state because no one can agree with everyone all the time. But your suggestion is very good idea. Manipur Tamil is a significant (even if is a single percent) part of population because of trade they control significantly. Similar in Gujarat. However, material on north east Tamil community is slightly tough to find because of their isolation. Moreh Tamil sangam website is barely one year old but it is one of the early internet presence of those people. But I will start to work on it. Thank very much for suggestions. --தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk) 02:09, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a web page for Manipur Tamils here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manipur_tamil_community --தொழில்நுட்பம் (talk) 08:27, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
