Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Bangladeshi folklorist
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Bangladeshi folklorist indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. Category:People from East Bengal

- @Fayenatic london
- The category "People from East Bengal" specifically denotes that the person's roots are in East Bengal, i.e., present-day Bangladesh. The term "Bengal Presidency" does not make it clear whether the person is from West Bengal or East Bengal. The Bengal Presidency no longer exists. The East Bengal of the Bengal Presidency is now a separate independent country. The category "People from East Bengal" is used to distinguish those people who were born and raised in East Bengal but later moved from East Bengal to India. The category "People from East Bengal" is useful for distinguishing people who have roots in East Bengal from those who have roots in West Bengal. This is important because the two regions are now separated. ফারদিন (talk) 17:01, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

Adding categories and more specific sub-categories too
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you just added Virendranath Chattopadhyaya to Category:People from Munshiganj District and also to Category:People from Bikrampur. The latter is a sub-category of the District category, so there is no need to add both. Please just add the most specific category that applies. See WP:SUBCAT for further info and guidance. – Fayenatic London 16:06, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Product (mathematics) did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! — Anita5192 (talk) 17:01, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
