This article is inadequately translated from the Russian and incomplete, but I saw with surprise and joy that the document you cited on the first meeting came from a TsAMO digitized collection. My understanding was that it was still very hard to access the archives. I understand that you, of course, have your own editing priorities and list of tasks, and your interests may not extend to articles about the RuMOD archives. But if you had a bit of time, and the interest, to doublecheck or update the article, to better reflect the current situation, it would be very much appreciated. Not necessarily now, anytime in the next... 3 years? Advising Kges1901 and Wreck Smurfy [no action required, WreckSmurfy] as this is effectively part of the Red Army editors' group portfolio. Also FYI Ezhiki. Buckshot06 (talk) 23:23, 2 September 2017 (UTC)
- Dear Buckshot06! I am very grateful for the offer. I read both articles (Russian and English). They are both obsolete. Judging by the current situation, the archives are constantly digitized. Unfortunately, the information is laid out to certain dates (usually on the Victory Day). We will add here the normative legal acts of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which continue to restrict access to archives. I do not want to write about what I know only on the Internet. At the same time, if I have access to any information, I will try to improve both articles. In three years I will improve something! (Чёрт побери!!!!). Your friend Георгий Палкин (talk) 13:08, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thankyou Georgi (sorry about the lack of Cyrillic, not on my keyboard!!) Thanks for your frank and helpful reply. I do not fully understand what you mean by 'the information is laid out to certain dates'. They only have the pages accessible on 9 May every year? Yes, it would be great to get links and information about the normative legal acts. Please take your time, and don't rush on our behalf. Buckshot06 (talk) 02:13, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
- Dear Giorgi!! Greetings from Aotearoa!! What would you like to work on? Do you have plans to do more on the Great Patriotic War? Buckshot06 (talk) 08:11, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
