New Welcome template

Template Help

I'm trying to add an auto signature to a project welcome template and can't seem to get it to work. The template is here. I'd like to replicate the auto signature similar to {{W-basic}} but can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Вasil | talk 21:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I also fixed the table, it wasn't closing properly so if I added it right below this, it would include the whole next section (TAMU-CC...) in the red part of the table. Yonatan ^talk 23:37, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

TAMU-CC Colors

I went off of their identification guidelines, which give specific Pantone colors that they use. I've been trying to use those in the other templates I've made, so for consistency's sake (and since the TAMU-CC template looked strikingly similar to the Tulane template, both on Perry Clark's page) I made the switch. --fuzzy510 21:45, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I think that TAMU-CC uses green as a primary color, and if that's true, it's probably better to go with the green for the background color. They're still similar, but with nearly 300 of these things, there's going to be some overlap. --fuzzy510 21:58, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Mobile, Alabama

I know you have been working on Mobile, Alabama a lot recently. You've done a great job. What needs to be done for GA candidacy, its got to be close? What's the origin of the OR template? JodyB _talk 03:15, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Copyright status of Fort Louis image on History of Mobile article

Thanks for your positive feedback on the development of the Old Mobile Site article. I still have some work to complete there. I have a question for you regarding the image of Fort Louis on the History of Mobile article. I also came across this image in the state archives of Alabama. I am concerned about its copyright status, however. I originally could not tell if the image was historical or created recently. I did some research on the artist and found that he had done quite a bit of work for the state. I also found that he participated in World War II and was still alive as of 2001. This threws the claim of public domain for the work into doubt. Do you have any additional information on the copyright status? If we can confirm that the image is available for use, I would like to incorporate it into the Old Mobile Site article. Leeannedy 09:27, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the additional information regarding the image. Unfortunately, the historical images (public domain) created of Fort Louis de la Louisiane are somewhat lacking (the image from the 1704-1705 city plan is probably the best I have found). I find it somewhat inconvenient that the state archives do not more prominently indicate the copyright status and/or date of publication of images on their website. Although the process you described to obtain permission is not overly burdensome, it is also not terribly simple. For this case, I would recommend pursuing it, however. I would suggest that you request permission to use the image for both the History of Mobile and Old Mobile Site articles. Do you know where the model of Fort Louis pictured on the Internet (for example, University of South Alabama website) is physically located? Leeannedy 19:02, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Template/Category help

Definitely odd. I'm guessing something may have gotten messed up with the background database processing when that template was added. I removed the template and readded it and it immediately showed up in the category. If you come across any other talk pages that are tagged but are not showing up in the Wikiproject category, try removing the tag and then readding it as I did.↔NMajdan•talk 18:24, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
