Music in Slip jig

Hi! I like that you've put in larger music for "Drops of Brandy", along with a file that plays it, into slip jig. But the way you've put it in isn't terribly well-connected to the rest of the page. Down in the River to Pray

Hi, I reverted your change to Down in the River to Pray. No offense, but it was redundant. There's already an image of the score on that page, and your edit pushed the text way down the page.

Originally the lyrics were included in the article text, but people kept editing them. Problem is, the lyrics are in "dialect" ("dat" for "that" and so on) and people find that offensive, so they edit the lyrics. It's an understandable reaction, but it's not for an encyclopedia to change the song's lyrics, so I ended up just deleting them from the text. The lyrics in the image can't be edited.

I didn't realize there was even such a thing as markup language for musical notation in Wikipedia. That's wonderful. Just not needed in this particular case, IMO. --MopTop (talk) 16:35, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

And I'd appreciate if you stopped making changes that break the table, thank you. I guarantee you this is the most fitting result, because your changes result in a distorted table for me. Besides, it's not that it's anyone else but you who seem to have this issue, so your guarantee is not an actual "guarantee".
Also, I'm so sorry that collapsible tables don't work perfectly for you in a mobile device, but understand that these are pretty common in Wikipedia and that they are useful, and that we can't just accommodate all of Wikipedia to your specific designs. Use the computer with the standard platform for Wikipedia and everything should be shown to you like it is shown for everyone else. Thank you. Impru20 (talk) 14:08, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

@Impru20: Please have a look at what I see here (Firefox on Ubuntu). In any case, while fully collapsible tables are not a problem, the partly collapsible table, while a good idea, doesn't work at all on the mobile app or the mobile site. I acknowledge that you may have issues with the table width, but you should also understand that your own changes could cause others to have issues of their own. These things are never perfect, but I've edited through hundreds of articles using the same designs for years, with hundreds of users and thousands of readers surely checking all of these, and there have been maybe one or two reports (including you) that these could cause issues. I'm sorry if these may cause issues for very few people, but the actual designs were thought so that they don't cause issues for most people (I hope some day I (or someone) may find out the way to fix this so that no one has issues, but... it looks like one way or the other, this seems poised to happen for some people for now).

About the mobile app and mobile site, yeah, I'm aware of this since I tend to use those at times. But the mobile app works very differently from the computer version, so you end up having sort of things looking good in the computer but not on the mobile app and vice versa. But while in the mobile app the collapsible tables may cause some design layout issues, they don't prevent users from checking the actual data. Impru20 (talk) 14:30, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

I've made a slight change. Tell me how it looks to you now. If you still have issues, let me know where they are so I can spot them. I'll see if there's some way I can fix these right away (hoping that these could solve the errors for all platforms) so I know where the errors are and I can fix all other such tables throughout all articles thereafter. Wait, I've found out that you're using CologneBlue as your default Wikipedia skin! It's not a matter of you using Firefox or Ubuntu but a matter of skin. The default skin for Wikipedia is Vector, which is the one most people typically use (you can change it in Preferences --> Appearance --> Skin).

The issue with skins is that it's very hard to have edits that show equally fine in all of these. Try to use Vector in the original version of the table without my change (this one) to check if the problem persists for you. Impru20 (talk) 14:48, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Well, it's weird but CologneBlue in Chrome looks nearly identical to the pic you sent me and causes the exact same issues you showed me. I'm also spotting that some issues may be indirectly caused by the font size.

Ok, I'll be somewhat busy today but if I can't do it today I will take a look throughout the weekend to check how I fix this. It's an issue because each skin shows its own issues, and then these may also change depending on whether you use Chrome or Firefox. Impru20 (talk) 15:00, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Nevermind. I think I found out how to fix it for most skins, and yeah, it involves widening the columns and enlarging the font size (necessarily making the table wider, as well as making some changes to the "Blank ballots" section which was what was causing the troubles).
