An Intellitar™, or “Intelligent Avatar”, is an artificially powered intelligent representation of a real person or character that can look, sound, and behave in a manner dictated by the user who created it. A user can create an Intellitar by utilizing a technology like the Intelligent Avatar Platform™ (IAP). Although there are similarities between Intellitars and other “chat bots” avatars, Intellitars have several features that distinguish them from other interactive avatars that can be found on the Internet. The IAP technology allows Intellitars to be customized for use in a wide variety of applications.[1]
Development
[edit]The IAP technology behind an Intellitar was developed in Huntsville, Alabama and Los Angeles, California in 2008-2009. Development efforts have been focused on creating an avatar with literally the same personality, look, sound, and movements of its user; with the eventual goal of being able to communicate flawlessly with humans.[2] Intellitar prototypes are currently being tested in a number of organizations. Plans call for deploying the IAP/Intellitar technology in the first half of 2010.
Features
[edit]As part of training an Intellitar, a user may include specific features the Intellitar can perform. Some basic features are embedded in the technology, such as:
- Elementary math
- Accessing the Internet
- Recalling important information
- Answering “who”, “what”, “where” questions
- Posting on Twitter
- Answering FAQs
- Text and voice communication
- User trainable
After creating a basic Intellitar, the user can train the Intellitar through conversational interaction and by utilizing a “brain” editor. Thus the Intellitar can be customized for a variety of applications. Intellitars allow the user to fashion an intelligent “agent” (avatar) that can stand in proxy for the user, whether the user is online or not.[citation needed]
The Intelligent Avatar Platform allows users to deploy their Intellitars as a embedded webpage widget and/or as client-side application.
Applications
[edit]Examples of possible Intellitar applications are:[citation needed]
- Company website FAQs
- Customer service inquiries
- Interactive advertising
- Product promotion
- Website retention
- Increase website foot traffic
- Virtual clones
- Advanced education
