Da Tweekaz is a Norwegen hardstyle DJ and producer. Made up with Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli, the duo is now an official member of Belgian music label Dirty Workz. The duo also produces happy hardcore as well under the alias Tweekacore since 2017.
Biography
[edit]Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli were originally hard dance music composers before moving into the hardstyle scene in 2007. They released their first work, Angeli Domini, on the Spider Records label, then appeared for the first time on the Belgian major hardstyle label Dirty Workz in 2010.
In 2012, the duo moved to the Netherlands for a brief period, to avoid the constant travel between their home country, Norway, and Dutch and Belgian festivals. Eventually they decide to stay in Belgium. The same year, Da Tweekaz released their first album entitled Time 2 Shine on October 8, received on Partyflock with a rating of 75 out of 100. In 2013, the duo reached 86th place on the DJ Mag Top 100; the next year they reached 66th place. In 2014, Da Tweekaz celebrated his 50 videos on YouTube. They participated in the compilation released on the sidelines of the Bassleader event in the same year, producing the mix for the first CD of this triple album, well received by specialized sites.
In September 2016, Da Tweekaz was invited as headliner at No Man's World Desert Festival, Belgium's only Desert Festival. On November 18, 2017, Da Tweekaz performed for the first time at Qlimax, where they released a new track, Jägermeister, which left its mark and was particularly well received by the public. In June 2017, the group announced the adoption of a new alias, Tweekacore, under which they teamed up with Darren Styles for the production of happy hardcore tracks. In April 2018, they participated in the 3rd edition of the hardstyle festival, La Folie Varadaise, which takes place every year near Nantes, France. In the same year, the duo carried out a show tour to celebrate their ten years of career, and released an album including remixes of their old songs.
At Tomorrowland, they represented hardstyle on the Mainstage, one year after Coone.
Since May 1, 2020 , following among other things the various confinements linked to COVID-19, Da Tweekaz broadcasts a live streaming of approximately 4 hours every week on YouTube (Fridays from 8 p.m.), called TweekaTV , during which they often mix on chosen themes or invite other groups from the hardstyle scene to mix with them. Internet users can interact with them through a normal “chat” and a “Superchat” through which they can make donations and leave messages that will be read by Kenth. Internet users can also be filmed live on Zoom and then appear on YouTube during the live.
The duo performed on the Tomorrowland Mainstage again in 2022 and 2023.
