Ronald P. Carver, Ph.D, was a distinguished professor in the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He was in the Division of Educational Research and Psycology in the School of Education. He specialized in reading research, and founded the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR). His final book was The Causes of High and Low Reading Achievement, published in 2000.
