HELLO EVERYONE
I would love to write brilliant articles with glorious illustrations, but I am not very computer-wise, and so am confining my Wikiventures (for the time being) to WikiGnomedom. I hope to graduate to WikiFairydom someday, and maybe even figure out how to include a picture on my user page..... (BTW, doumo arigatou gozaimasu to Nihonjoe for adding the WikiProject Japan Mythology Task Force symbol to my user page.)
I have a boring day job, but (or therefore) I am an artist and writer by avocation. My interests include all things unusual and unconventional. I have a special fondness for everything occult, weird fiction, myths and legends from everywhere, paranormal phenomena, cryptozoology, Tarot, Japanese literature (in English translation, although I am s-l-o-w-l-y learning the language), Japanese films from the 50s and 60s, pre-Code Hollywood, true crime, herbalism, natural history, etc.
As a WikiGnome, I am dedicated to making articles better by making them more readable. Strunk & White are my heroes, and my favorite book of all time is my Webster's Unabridged Dictionary. My pet peeves include sloppy usage (especially inexcusable abominations, such as saying "lay" when you mean "lie") and verbosity (especially combined with mealy-mouthed catch phrases, such as saying "have a dialogue around the issue of..." instead of "talk about...").
I will keep a list here of articles over which I've waved my WikiWand (to greater or lesser degree).
Please let me know what you think of my WikiWork, or just say hi on my talk page. I generally will respond on my talk page, unless you request otherwise. :)
