I'm a 18 year old student from Singapore. Currently, my interests are Pen Spinning and Xtreme Card Manipulation.
I started pen spinning on 30th July 2004. 2 years before, I have already known the ThumbAround and was even able to do the ThumbAround Harmonic. I had once tried to learn the Charge from one of my classmate, but failed. Despite these, I did not know about the existence of pen spinning.
It was during class time when one of my friends showed the pen spinning trick known as the Sonic. I was interested in learning that trick because I have never seen it before. From my friend, I managed to learn the Sonic though it was not exactly up to standards. My friend told me that there are websites about pen spinning. When I reach home from school, I went to search the Internet about pen spinning. A few websites came up. Upon knowing that there are more variations to pen spinning than the Sonic, my interest for pen spinning was established.
For the next few days after that, I look though some of the websites and the other pen spinning websites from links. On 9th August 2004, I joined the Universal Pen Spinning Board and my pen spinning skills have developed from it ever since.
My interest for Xtreme Card Manipulation (XCM) developed during the second quarter of 2005 due to pen spinning. While I was on the Universal Pen Spinning Board, I was provided a link to Superhandz. Superhandz is a website dedicated to X-treme Hand Sportz. From there, I downloaded a few videos on XCM. I was amazed by the videos and wanted to learn XCM since then.
However, as XCM was an underground art, it was difficult to find tutorials to learn tricks except buying DVDs on XCM. As I did not have easy access to electronic money, I was unable to buy the DVDs. I tried learning the tricks from videos but with little success.
My brother managed to buy 2 DVDs by borrowing a credit card from one of our friends. The 2 DVDs are 'Cradle To Grave DVD' and 'The Cobra Collection', both are the works of De'vo. De'vo is one of the greatest Card Manipulation experts in the world. As the tricks taught in these DVDs are the more advanced tricks, I am unable to learn much from it, so my XCM skills were still very limited then.
My brother bought The Encyclopedia of Play Card Flourishes by The Flourishman (Jerry Cestkowski) on November 2005. This allowed me to improve on my XCM skills. I received my own deck of Tally-Ho playing cards on 17 December 2005 and started learning fans immediately. On February 2006, my brother bought The System by Dan and Dave from which I to learn the more advanced Sybils.
I joined Wikipedia during the second quarter of 2005. Then, I was just browsing the free online encyclopedia.
Some of the categories I have expressed interest in are special relativity, general relativity and Star Wars.
