1. What is vandalism on Wikipedia?

Vandalism is intentious deletion, addition , rewording or changing of content with the intention of degrading the article in wikipedia or the subjects on which the article is written upon e.g obscen humor, blanking of text or page , insertion of nonsence. Y

2. What is the difference between vandalism and good faith editing?
A.

Vandalism Vs good faith editing , I would say the intention behind the editing would differentiate this, although as we have seen before with Mr tarunmarwah in indian astrology pages, we would continue to assume good faith edits from new bees and try to explain them of what is the way. Y

3. What is the most important thing to consider when reviewing an edit to a biography of a living person?
A.

I would go with basic rules of WIKI

Wiki NPOV : neutral point of view in the article and there is no undue bias in any way.

Verifiablity : The article should have sources for the texts that is being put in the article mathcing the wiki relaible source requirement

wikis no original research concept : the content should not be put across for Ideas and facts which is not put forth in the actuall source it is being qouted from . Y

4. What do you consider to be meant by the term "neutral point of view" on Wikipedia?

as mentioned above to have a non biased view on the subject and also to take as many different sources which are siginificant into consideration. Y

5. In a few sentences, sum up the essence of your understanding of copyright on Wikipedia.
A.

Regarding copyrights, wikipedia by itself does not own any copyrights, and but maintains the records of licences and the material given out (just as a free software),

Wikipedia also depends on Berne Convention for ascertaining copyrights of the material. and is usually granted under following records 1)GNU Free Documentation License 2)Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 and CC-BY-SA and GFDL ( as mentioned above ) are only the legally binding issues between user of the material and wikipedia. Y

All the above is correct, but could you also offer your view on the sort of copyright issues you're likely to encounter in reviewing pending changes (as mentioned in your answer below). What do you understand by a "copyright violation" in this context?

A copyright violation would be simply using material which is not licencesed from the above criteria, and the if the marterial is not from public domain, or even if the content as close resemblence or close rewording of a copyrighted material will amount to copyright violation.

below some rules from my work environment. Copyrights are usually created when the authors creates the work himself for the first time (usually boils down to proving this) , and the enforceablitly completely is different from country to country. Shrikanthv (talk) 08:15, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Short story, Inventors and writers during 70-80's used to mail post themselves there work. after recieving they would not open the seal of the letter. just to have proof that they were the first creators . Shrikanthv (talk) 08:18, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

• the new edit is conflicting with the policy on Biographies of Living People
• the new edit is vandalism or patent nonsense
• the new edit is copyright violations
• the new edit is legal threats, personal attacks or wiki:libel Y
