Evaluating the Gender Policing Article
[edit]This article is very short. The topic is much broader than what is covered here. There is a section on the transgendered and public restroom argument, but there is no mention of the ongoing debate and politics surrounding it. The recent supreme court case ruling, or the various state laws implemented that counteracted the ruling were never mentioned, therefore it is out of date. The section about adolescent Gender Policing is tiny compared to the magnitude of the effect Gender policing has at the age when children are just discovering who they are as people. This article is also very biased, of the few articles in the work cited only two are used frequently, causing a large issue to be centered on the ideas of two individuals. Not to mention, all of the cited sources are at least six years out of date, but commonly older than 17 years, which is far too old to be relevant to the current discussion. The effect of Gender Policing on females, and the experience of it by females, is often trivialized in this article by the statement that it is more often used on and by males. The statement is used far too often in the article, and causes a gender bias. The statement may not even be true the gender policing of males may be more prevalent, but I highly doubt it is more common. Some sections are obviously choppy, and added in like comments instead of parts of the article. It would be far improved by more organization, and addition in content. ~~~~
