Strict criteria for inclusion = (1) They must have produced some material which the Odious Oracle approves of; (2) With a couple of special exceptions, all must have released their debut single between 1975 and 1979. Mention must be made of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, the New York Dolls and Patti Smith from the US, and Dave Edmunds and the pub-rockers in the UK, who are excluded because of this criteria; (3) They must have recorded an album, or, at the very least, a retrospective album’s worth of material.
