Bio:
[edit]I was born in Yokohama, Japan in 2002. I moved to the states when I was at the tender age of 5 years old. Because of being half Japanese and half white, I am a bilingual student knowing how to speak, read and write Japanese and English. Currently I am a student at a college in the Pacific Northwest. I am taking college courses through a program called Running Start.
My hobbies all have to do with cars. I enjoy the "sport", if you will of drifting and I love working on my 1989 240SX. In the future I plan to transfer to a University in Japan. After that I plan to reside there for the rest of my years and enjoy living in the booming metropolis we all know as Tokyo, Japan.
Article Evaluation:
[edit]I have always had an interest in cars, specifically Nissan sports cars from the 90's. I own a 1989 240SX or as many people call it, the S13. The S13 is a generation of the Nissan Silvia sports coupe line. The Sileighty is a modification that I am very interested in doing so this intrigued me to check the validity of the Sieighty page on Wikipedia leading me to find 3 aspects of the article worth commenting on: its lack of citations, not being up to date, and its severe lack of pictures.
Citations:
[edit]When reading this article I noticed the severe lack of citations and sources. The article only had two sources one of which was not on the internet anymore, and then the other being about a whole different modification called the Odyvia. I feel like this article could be improved fairly drastically after credible sources are found and cited. I also found that because of the lack of sources, the information provided was not very in depth, and to a person with no prior knowledge of the modification, would leave more questions than answers.
Timeline:
[edit]This article was last edited in January 2019. Since then there has been only an handful of people contributing to the talk page. The lack of people working on this page has caused very little growth and caused a sort of stagnation. I feel like the S-chassis community could do better on updating such a legendary and historic modification that has been made iconic by the likes of Initial D and drifters of the 90's.Theren is a lot more information that could be covered on the sileighty conversion.
Photos:
[edit]The sileighty is a cosmetic modification making it hard for me to believe that this Wikipedia page only has one picture. It would help people to truly understand what a sileighty is if there were pictures of the process of converting a normal 180SX or 240SX into a sileighty. It doesn't help that most people may not know what a normal S13 looks like before the front end conversion, It would also be helpful if there were many angles of this modification to the car as it would leave the reader being educated on what a sileighty looks like.
Summary:
[edit]I feel like this page is in need of a lot of love and effort to make it the page it deserves to be. The lack of photos and information make this article very incomplete and leaves the reader with more questions then answers. The lack of sources also leads me to doubt the credibility of the article which led me to make a suggestion on the talk page. (Talk:Sileighty)
