The following is a list of characters who have appeared throughout the Saw series. This list arranges the characters by the film in which they were created (first appeared in), and then into alphabetical order.

Saw

Adam Faulkner-Stanheight

• Portrayed by Leigh Whannell.
• Appeared in: Saw,Saw III

Adam was a photographer used by Detective Tapp to follow the man he suspected of being the Jigsaw Killer, Lawrence Gordon. Coming to the attention of Jigsaw, Adam was placed into a game alongside Gordon, with them being given conflicting goals to accomplish by a certain time. After failing to complete their tests in time they were confronted by Zepp Hindle. Adam managed to kill Zepp, believing him to be Jigsaw while Gordon attempted to escape. Having failed, the real Jigsaw revealed himself and left Adam trapped to die. Jigsaw's apprentice Amanda later returned to this trap and suffocated Adam to death in an attempt to end his suffering. Adam's last name was originally shown as "Faulkner", however, in Saw V, his last name is listed as Stanheight, so Faulkner may be his middle name. Because of this, Adam's surname is not completely clear.

Alison Gordon

• Portrayed by Monica Potter.
• Appeared in: Saw

Alison appeared in Saw as Lawrence Gordon's wife. Alison was held hostage with along with her daughter by Zep Hindle as part of Lawrence's test. When Lawrence failed his test, Zep was meant to kill both Alison and her daughter but interference by Detective Tapp allowed Lawrence's family to escape safely.

Allison Kerry

• Portrayed by Dina Meyer.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V

Allison Kerry was a detective, first seen in Saw, who had worked with David Tapp, Steven Sing, Eric Matthews, Daniel Rigg, and Mark Hoffman on the Jigsaw killer case. She discovered and investigated several of Jigsaw's traps after they had been activated and aided Eric Matthews during his test in order to try and save his son. After Matthews was kidnapped and presumed dead following the events of Saw II, Kerry became wracked with guilt for his loss. After pointing out that a trap did not follow Jigsaw's modus operandi, in that it did not give the victim a chance to escape, and that she did not believe Jigsaw was responsible for it, Kerry herself was captured and placed in her own trap. Though she followed the rules and secured her freedom, the trap was designed by Amanda Young to not release her. The trap was sprung and killed Kerry by destroying her ribcage, her corpse later being discovered by Rigg and the FBI. It was revealed in Saw IV that she was also an FBI contact passing information to Agents Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez. Kerry was given a memorial in Saw V.

Amanda Young

Amanda was one of Jigsaw's earliest targets who managed to survive her 'game'. Believing she was changed from her self-harming ways she was recruited by Jigsaw as his apprentice. Intended to carry on his legacy, she became disillusioned with Jigsaw's philosophy and began to design inescapable traps intended to kill the victim even if they passed their test. She was ultimately killed by Jeff Reinhart after she murdered his wife, Lynn Denlon.

David Tapp

• Portrayed by Danny Glover (Film) and Earl Alexander (Game).
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw V, Saw: The Video Game

David Tapp was a detective assigned to investigate early Jigsaw crimes. Evidence led him to suspect Dr. Lawrence Gordon of being Jigsaw and led him to a possible hideout for Jigsaw. Tapp and his partner Sing found the real Jigsaw and attempted to arrest him but were stopped when the killer activated a nearby trap, threatening the life of the man trapped within it. Sing rushed to help the victim while Tapp attempted to arrest Jigsaw but Jigsaw retalliated by slicing open Tapp's throat. As they pursued Jigsaw, Sing was killed in a booby-trap for which Tapp blamed himself. As he became obsessed with capturing Jigsaw, Tapp was dismissed from the force. Still convinced that Gordon was Jigsaw, Tapp investigated him privately, inadvertently coming into conflict with Zep Hindle who was holding Gordon's family hostage. Tapp gave chase and fought with Zepp but was shot and left for dead. In Saw: The Video Game, it is revealed that Tapp was nursed back to health by Jigsaw and placed in a series of traps in an asylum, forced to overcome tests and other victims sent to kill him. In the game's "Freedom" ending, Tapp manages to escape the asylum but commits suicide sometime afterwards by shooting himself in the head in his apartment because he cannot overcome his obsession with Jigsaw . In the game's "Truth" ending, Tapp becomes insane and is sent to an asylum. In Saw V, Tapp is given a police memorial.

Diana Gordon

• Portrayed by Makenzie Vega.
• Appeared in: Saw

Diana is Lawrence Gordon's daughter in Saw. She, along with her mother Alison Gordon, was taken hostage by Zep Hindle for the duration of her father's test. After Lawrence failed his test, Zep was instructed to kill Diana and her mother but intervention by Detective David Tapp allowed them both to escape safely.

Donnie Greco

• Donnie Greco was portrayed by Oren Koules.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw III, Saw IV

Donnie Greco first appeared in Amanda's Reverse Bear Trap scene in Saw. He was heavily tranquilized (injected with an opiate overdose) and "couldn't move or feel much of anything" as part of Amanda's test. The key to the lock on the reverse bear trap had been placed in his stomach, and to get to it, Amanda had to cut into him. She was told that he was dead, but he began to stir slightly as she knelt over him with the knife; nevertheless, she still disemboweled him to get the key. Donnie was seen again in Saw III in a flashback showing Jigsaw preparing the trap by painting a question-mark on Donnie's stomach. He appeared in a flashback in Saw IV exiting Jill's health clinic with Paul Leahy. It has been theorized that Donnie was Amanda's drug dealer. In Saw V that he is real name was Donnie Greco, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Jeff Ridenhour-Thomas

• Jeff was portrayed by Ned Bellamy in the film and Dex Manley in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw: The Video Game

Jeff first appeared in Saw as a victim of one of Jigsaw's experimental traps. Jeff was bound to a chair with two drills facing his neck. Once activated, the drills moved towards his neck, and Detective Steven Sing was told that the key to stop them was on a ring filled with dozens of keys. Instead of using a key, Sing shot the drills, successfully deactivating them. He is not to be confused with Jeff Reinhart, the protagonist of Saw III. He also appears in Saw: The Video Game. He is shown to have become suicidal from Detective Tapp repeatedly questioning him about Jigsaw. Detective Tapp saves him and he runs away. His last name is stated to be Thomas in the videogame. Because of this, his surname is not completely clear.

John Kramer (Jigsaw/The Jigsaw Killer)

• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, Saw: The Video Game

John Kramer was a successful engineer, married to Jill Tuck and expecting a son, Gideon. Following the miscarriage of his son, John became distraught and later learned he had an aggresive brain tumour. He attempted sucide but ultimately survived finding a new appreciation for life, realising how much of his own he had wasted. Using his wealth and skill, John set about testing the 'will to live' of others by placing them in deadly traps, hoping to make them too appreciate their lives. Those who failed would have a jigsaw-shaped piece cut from their flesh. This missing piece was used to coin his nickname, 'Jigsaw' or 'The Jigsaw Killer'. John, near-death already, was killed by one of his surviving victims.

Jigsaw took two apprentices, Mark Hoffman and Amanda Young, hoping for them to carry on his legacy, however only one failed to truly understand and appreciate his philosophy.

Lawrence Gordon

• Portrayed by Cary Elwes
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw

Dr. Lawrence Gordon was the man responsible for diagnosing John Kramer's cancer and was initially a suspect in the Jigsaw case. As Jigsaw, John targeted Gordon for engaging in an affair with his medical student despite having a loving family. Gordon was placed in a trap alongside Adam and tasked with killing him before the time-limit ran out or his wife and daughter would be executed. He failed to do this but instead severed his own foot to free himself from his shackles, attempting to crawl to freedom. Lawrence was a prime suspect for being the Jigsaw Killer due to his pen-light having been placed at the scene of a Jigsaw crime by Mark Hoffman.

When Leigh Whannell asked Cary Elwes what he thought about his character's fate on the commentary for the Saw: Uncut Edition DVD, Elwes responded with, "Let's face it, guys. He's severed his whole leg off. The loss of blood alone, even with that pathetic tourniquet he made with his shirt. It's a wrap. He's not going to get two blocks." Darren Lynn Bousman said on the DVD commentaries for Saw IV that his intent was to leave Dr. Gordon's fate an unanswered question and let fans make up their own minds.

Mark Rodriguez Wilson

• Mark Rodriguez was portrayed by Paul Gutrecht.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw

Mark, a 30 year old software analyst, was first featured in Saw and later in Saw: Rebirth as one of Jigsaw's first targets. John saw him at the hospital, where Mark claimed to be sick or have injuries of some sort as an excuse to skip work, when in fact he was perfectly healthy. This was enough for John to make him one of his first test subjects as Jigsaw.

Mark was stripped of his clothes in a dark room, and had a slow acting poison in his bloodstream. From the message Jigsaw left for him, Mark learned that the antidote was inside a safe in front of him and the combination was written on the wall. However, the wall was filled with hundreds of numbers. The floor was covered in glass, and Mark's body was smeared with a flammable substance. The only source of light in the room was a wax candle. Slowly, Mark began to try each combination. However, he fumbled with the candle and ignited the substance covering him, burning him alive. His charred corpse was found by the police some time later. In Saw V a list was shown of Jigsaw's victims and it indicated that his last name was Wilson, so Rodriguez may have been his middle name.

Paul Leahy

• Paul Leahy was portrayed by Mike Butters.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw, Saw IV, Saw V

Paul was one of John's first victims. According to Saw: Rebirth, Paul worked at Standard Engineering Ltd., while in the Full Disclosure Report: Piecing Together Jigsaw documentary, Paul was listed as a 46-year old accountant. Paul was a bore, but had a good life with a wife and kids. However, in what John would believe to be more of a cry for attention than a suicide attempt, Paul ran a straight razor across his wrists and was admitted to the Angel of Mercy hospital shortly after John had learned of his cancer. After John's transformation into the serial killer known as Jigsaw, Paul was targeted for his previous actions and was placed in a large cage lined with a maze of razor wire. He had to get to the exit by finding a path through the maze, but he only had 2 hours before the door to the room he was in would close, sealing him in. The irony in the situation was that if he wanted to live, he'd have to cut himself again. If he wanted to die, all he had to do was wait. Paul didn't make it to the exit, and died hanging on the wires. According to Detective Allison Kerry, Paul was 46 years old at the time of his death.

Paul was seen again later in a flashback in Saw IV, leaving Jill's drug clinic. In Saw V it was revealed that Jigsaw and Hoffman captured Paul together in an alley. They bump the rear of his vehicle with their vehicle, just as he prepares to slit his wrists for a second time. When he gets out to investigate he is attacked and captured by Jigsaw and Hoffman, who were both wearing pig masks. Paul nearly fought the two of them off, but was eventually sedated by Jigsaw.

Steven Sing

• Portrayed by Ken Leung.
• Appeared in: Saw, Saw V

Steven Sing was a detective who was called to the crime scene investigation of one of Jigsaw's victims. He and his partner, David Tapp, were assigned to the case. Tapp found a clue in one of the tapes left over from the crime scene, leading Sing and Tapp right to Jigsaw's hideout. There, they found a man named Jeff stuck in an experimental trap with drills aimed at his neck. Jigsaw arrived and activated the device, telling Sing that the key to stop the drills was on a ring, along with dozens of other keys. Sing shot the drills and deactivated them before pursuing Jigsaw through the warehouse after Jigsaw had slashed Tapp's throat. While chasing down a hallway, Sing accidentally stepped across a tripwire, hidden among cobwebs, which triggered four shotguns hidden above to fire down at him, killing him as Jigsaw escaped. Sing's death was the cause of Tapp's obsession to hunt down and find Jigsaw. In Saw V, Sing was given a police memorial.

It is revealed in Saw: The Video Game that Sing had a wife named Melissa and a son named Franklin. Melissa encounters Tapp during the game and blames him for the death of her husband.

Zep Hindle

• Portrayed by Michael Emerson.
• Appeared in: Saw: Rebirth, Saw

Zep was an orderly who worked in the hospital where John Kramer, the Jigsaw Killer, was treated for his cancer. He formed a sort of bond with John while he was being treated, but was considered to have "issues of his own" by him. John seemed to see a lot of his own actions in Zep's goals, reminding him of himself before he was diagnosed with cancer. Zep would later be forced to watch Adam Faulkner and Dr. Gordon play out their game that took place in a bathroom. If Lawrence failed to kill Adam by 6 o'clock, then Zep would be forced to kill Lawrence's wife and child, whom he had been holding hostage, in order to save himself from the slow-acting nerve agent in his bloodstream. He would then have to kill Lawrence himself and presumably retrieve an antidote from Jigsaw. Lawrence failed, but his wife and daughter managed to escape from Zep's grip before he could kill them, as Zep was attacked by David Tapp, a former detective who was watching the Gordons' home from across the street. Zep was forced to flee down to the sewers to kill Lawrence, but Tapp followed him, which resulted in a small fight. Zep managed to shoot Tapp in the stomach and continue to the bathroom, where he found Adam and Lawrence. Lawrence shot Adam, and tried to shoot Zep, but didn't have enough bullets. As Zep was about to kill Lawrence, Adam pulled his leg out from under him and attacked him with a toilet cover, bludgeoning him to death with it.

Throughout the film, Zep is presented as a red herring, with the audience being encouraged to believe that he was Jigsaw, rather than a victim of one of Jigsaw's games. On the commentary for Saw, Leigh Whannell and James Wan stated that they wrote the scene to show that Zep enjoyed the sense of power he was given over others which he did not have before. Zep's decomposed corpse was later seen in Saw II and Saw III.

Saw II

Addison Corday

• Portrayed by Emmanuelle Vaugier.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV

Addison was a prostitute and a victim in the Nerve Gas House in Saw II. Like most of the other victims in the house, she had been arrested by Detective Eric Matthews. Though she attempted to work with the other prisoners to survive, upon learning that another victim, Daniel, was Eric Matthews' son, she began working alone to find the vaccine to the gas slowly killing her. In her attempt to reach an antidote, her wrists became trapped between razor blades. Xavier found her but declined to help her, leaving her to die. In Saw IV she is shown prior to John Kramer becoming Jigsaw, offering him 'company' in her role as as a prostitute.

It was revealed in the commentary for the second film that there was a key already in the lock at the back of the the trap Addison died in, and all she had to do in order to live was to turn it and grab the antidote. According to the Saw II website, Addison was written to be 29 years old. .

Daniel Matthews

• Portrayed by Erik Knudsen.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Daniel appeared in Saw II, he is the son of Detective Eric Matthews. After a falling out with his father, Daniel went missing but was revealed to have been captured and placed in another of Jigsaws games alongside several convicts, all arrested by Daniel's father. As the game progressed, Daniels lineage was discovered and he was abandoned by many of the other victims. As time ran low, Daniel and Amanda worked together to get away from Xavier, an enraged victim who was hunting them. Xavier found them but Daniel managed to slice open his neck with a rusty saw, killing him and saving Amanda and himself. After these events it is revealed that Amanda, Jigsaws new apprentice, had taken the unconscious Daniel to Jigsaws lair and they had locked him in a safe as an incentive for Eric Matthews in his own test.

Daniel Rigg

Lieutenant Daniel Rigg

• Portrayed by Lyriq Bent.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V

Rigg was a SWAT officer who first appeared in Saw II, assisting detectives Eric Matthews and Allison Kerry in arresting Jigsaw, but ultimately failed to capture the felon after Eric helped Jigsaw escape. He held the rank of Sergeant for this film, but was promoted to Lieutenant before the events of Saw III. Appearing only briefly in Saw III, Rigg was eventually put into a series of tests as the protagonist in Saw IV, in which he had to rethink many of the Jigsaw Killer's ideals. He suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach in his final test; and it was revealed that he died of blood loss in Saw V. Rigg was given a memorial in Saw V, along with Detectives Eric Matthews, Allison Kerry, David Tapp, and Steven Sing.

Lyriq Bent has remarked that: "I didn't know what to expect of his character in the fourth movie. Lieutenant Rigg has really come into himself. In Saw II, he was really the strong, silent type that really didn't know what was going on around him. You had a sense that there was something going on with him internally, and I think that sparked a lot of curiosity in the audience. They wanted to know, 'Who is this guy, and what's he all about?' In Saw IV, you get to find out who he is, and what he's all about, and how he feels about the situation that he's in, and how he feels about the type of work that he's in and people and all that. And I think he's a character that people are gonna like, because they can relate to him on so many different levels. He's a real person. In Saw IV, you get to go on a journey with him, and it's pretty much an emotional journey. At the end, I only hope that the audience will be as exhausted and worn out as he is, because he becomes this broken man." It is revealed in Saw V in a Police Officer memorial service that his first name is Daniel.

Eric Matthews

• Appeared in: Saw - Full Disclosure Report, Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V

Eric Matthews was a detective who led a SWAT team to Jigsaw's latest lair in Saw II. Before he could be arrested, Jigsaw revealed he had possession of Eric's son and that he would have to play in Jigsaw's game to see him again. It was revealed that Eric was chosen because he had planted evidence to secure convictions against people for crimes they had not committed. Eric, concerned about his son, refused to follow Jigsaw's rules and in doing so he ended up trapped and shackled in the same bathroom in which Adam had died. However, he shattered his own foot to allow him to squeeze free of the shackle and pursue Amanda, his captor and one of the victims of his evidence-planting. He brutally beat Amanda before she gained the upper-hand and left him for dead. Jigsaw found Matthews, and had his foot repaired and held him captive until he could be used in a trap designed for Daniel Rigg. After Rigg failed his test, Matthews was killed when his head was crushed between two large blocks of ice. He is later given a police memorial.

Gus Colyard

• Gus Colyard was portrayed by Tony Nappo.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV, Saw V

Gus, listed as being a rash and angry business man, appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in the house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. Like most of the other prisoners, Gus was framed by Detective Eric Matthews, although what he was framed for was never spoken of. However, the Saw II commentary suggested that it was for embezzlement. Waking up in the small starting room with the others, he questioned how they just woke up in a room with no recollection of where they were. On the realization that he and the others had been kidnapped, he began to get paranoid. He remembered a movie he saw on TV about a reporter who spent 9 years locked in a cell with no light, wondering if something similar awaited him. He continued to panic before he sided with Xavier in a small argument with Amanda concerning a key, desperate to get out of the room and regain some control over the situation. Gus peered into the peephole of the locked door as Xavier turned the key in the keyhole, which triggered a gun to go off and shot Gus in the eye through the peephole. Unbeknownst to him, Gus had a number written on the back of his neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Gus' neck was a red 2. Xavier stumbled upon the numbers when he accidentally pulled off the coat covering Gus' corpse while trying to get into the safe. Gus appears again briefly in Saw IV during a scuffle with Cecil inside the health clinic. Gus briefly appeared in Saw V in a flashback scene showing Jigsaw and Mark Hoffman setting up the house for his game and the gun that killed him, while he was unconscious. According to the Saw II website, Gus was written to be 38. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Colyard, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Jonas Singer

• Portrayed by Glenn Plummer.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Jonas appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in a house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. It was revealed that he, like several of the others, was framed and sent to jail by Detective Eric Matthews, and it was implied that he had been part of a gang. Jonas seemed to be one of few people in the house using logic, trying to think of a game plan or talk it out. Despite doing his best to gather information in order to survive, as well as keeping the key and tape recorder on himself, Jonas seemed to be one of the most pessimistic in the house. He voiced his skepticism on the existence of antidotes and seemed unwilling to stick himself in the arm to find out what was in the syringes. He tried to keep the group together, not wanting to make any more enemies than he already had. When trying to talk to Xavier about working together they ended up getting in a fight. Xavier soon killed Jonas by hitting him in the back of the head with a nail-studded bat. Unbeknownst to him, Jonas had a number written on the back of his neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Jonas' neck was a yellow 16. According to the Saw II website, Jonas was written to be 41 years old. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Singer, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Laura Hunter

• Portrayed by Beverley Mitchell.
• Appeared in: Saw II

Laura Hunter, listed as being emotionally fragile, first appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in a house full of nerve gas, along with seven other people. It was discovered that she was framed and put in jail by Detective Eric Matthews, although her crime was never mentioned. According to the Saw II commentary, she was accused of being a kleptomaniac. Once the door opened to the rest of the house, Laura helped Amanda look for clues before finding a door that led down to the furnace. After a tape was played explaining Obi's game, she remembered that it was he who had kidnapped her while she was starting her car. After Obi died in the oven, Laura became weaker, unable or unwilling to stand for very long, instead relying on Daniel for support when she wasn't sitting against the wall. She pointed out a picture with a cracked frame, which led to the discovery of Daniel's father's identity. Laura was then the first to succumb to the effects of the toxic nerve agent being pumped through the house, having a fatal seizure while resting in Amanda's arms. Unbeknownst to her, Laura had a number written on the back of her neck, as did the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order, would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote. The number on Laura's neck was a violet 8. Laura also appears briefly in Saw V lying unconscious when Jigsaw and Hoffman are setting up the house trap. According to the Saw II website, Laura was written to be 24 years old. It was shown in Saw V that her family name was Hunter, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Michael Marks

• Michael Marks was portrayed by Noam Jenkins.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw IV

Michael appeared in the opening scene of Saw II. He found himself in one of Jigsaw's contraptions, set to drive nails into his head if he couldn't unlock his harness in time. Jigsaw took an interest in him because of his occupation as a police informant, working for Detective Eric Matthews. According to Jigsaw, Michael was unworthy of his life; he was a "rat" and used his eyes to snitch on other people. While heavily sedated, a key was surgically placed behind his right eye. Michael tried numerous times with a scalpel to retrieve the key, but gave up, not wanting to suffer the pain of removing his own eye. He died when the Venus Flytrap-Death Mask closed on his head. Detective Eric Matthews later identified his corpse at a crime scene investigation.

Michael was seen again later in a flashback in Saw IV, in the waiting room of Jill's clinic. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Marks, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Obi Tate

• Obi Tate was portrayed by Tim Burd in the films and Marc Carr in the game.
• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III, Saw V, Saw: The Video Game

Obi first appeared in Saw II as a prisoner in house full of nerve gas along with seven other people. He was seen quietly lurking in the background while the others argued. It was only when the envelope with his name was found that he finally spoke up. It was revealed in an audio tape addressed to him by Jigsaw that he helped kidnap the others, but he claimed he didn't even know the way out himself. His test would have allowed him to get two antidotes for the poisonous gas being pumped into the house, breathed in by the prisoners. He had to crawl into a furnace and grab the two syringes from the chains inside, one of which was a gift to him for helping to kidnap the other victims and the other for him to donate. Although the tape stated two antidotes were available the first one was a legitimate, safe antidote while the second one triggered the door to be closed and the furnace to ignite. The tape he was given said "Remember, Obi, once you are in Hell, only the Devil can help you out." In the furnace there was a knob with a devil sketched over it which if he turned could have stopped the fire but would have had to crawl through the fire. This trap seemed to be ironic as, according to the Saw II commentary, Obi was accused of being an arsonist. He ended up dying as he attempted to crawl through a broken window on the other side of the furnace. Obi did not know that he had a number written on the back of his neck, like the others. The numbers were color-coded, and when put in proper order of colors in a rainbow, as said by Jigsaw on the tape "the clues to their order can be found over the rainbow," it would give the combination to a safe that held an antidote in the first room the seven woke up in. The number on Obi's neck was a green 11. Obi also had a brief appearance in Saw III, in which he can be seen in John Kramer's flashback after his brain surgery. He also appeared in Saw V being dragged into the room where he woke up in for his test in Saw II by Mark Hoffman, in a flashback sequence. He appears in Saw: The Video Game, which is set between the first and second film. In Saw: The Video Game. he is caught by Jigsaw and ironically put in a furnace room that would burn him to death if Detective Tapp didn't save him. It is also revealed in the game that Obi wants to be tested and can't live without it. He believes in Jigsaw's way of rehabilitation and thinks of it like a gift. After Tapp frees him from the furnace he runs away from him and goes further into the asylum.

Xavier Chavez

• Appeared in: Saw II, Saw III

Xavier was a sociopathic drug dealer who appeared in Saw II. Imprionsed in the Nerve Gas House, Xavier was forced to hunt for an antidote to the gas that was slowly killing him, risking others to avoid harming himself in the various traps. Like most of the other victims of the house, Xavier had been framed by Detective Eric Matthews to secure a conviction. Remembering the instructions given at the start of the game, Xavier realised that the victims had numbers written on the back of their necks which, when combined, would open a safe containing antidote vials. Xavier began hunting down the other victims to collect their numbers before realising that one of the victims, Daniel, was the son of Eric Matthews. He began to hunt Daniel and Amanda but as he confronted them, Daniel lashed out, slashing Xavier's throat with a hacksaw, killing him. Xavier appeares briefly in Saw V lying unconscious whilst Jigsaw and Hoffman are setting up the house trap. According to the Saw II website, Xavier was written to be 40 years old. It was shown in Saw V that his family name was Chavez, as indicated by a document observed by Agent Strahm.

Saw III

Corbett Reinhart

Corbett was the neglected daughter of Lynn Denlon and Jeff Reinhart in Saw III. She was kidnapped and hidden away in Jigsaw's lair, given a limited air supply. Her father learned of her presence in the warehouse upon killing Jigsaw, revealing that he would have to play another game to get Corbett back. Her father was shot to death by Agent Strahm in Saw IV. It should be noted that Hoffman was holding one of Corbett's toys in a scene in which he conversed with Perez. Corbett had a brief appearance in Saw V where she was seen with the stuffed animal being taken out of the warehouse and given to a police officer by Lieutenant Hoffman.

Danica Scott

• Danica Scott was portrayed by Debra Lynne McCabe.
• Appeared in: Saw III

Danica Scott was the only witness to the death of Jeff Reinhart's son, Dylan. Instead of staying to testify, Danica fled the scene, and was later kidnapped as part of Jeff's tests. She was stripped nude and suspended by the wrists in a freezer room. The key that would free her was hanging behind a set of frozen pipes. Once Jeff entered, cold water began spraying on Danica, and she was able to convince Jeff to help her. He managed to get the key, tearing part of his cheek off in the process when it froze onto the pipes. However, he was unable to open the lock, which was already covered with ice, and Danica had frozen to death. According to the final draft of the Saw III script, Danica was written to be in her 30's.

Halden

• Halden was portrayed by Barry Flatman.
• Appeared in: Saw III

Halden was the judge that had presided over the trial of Timothy Young, the drunk driver who killed Jeff's son, Dylan. Jeff was angry with him because he had only sentenced Timothy to six months in prison. Jeff got his chance at revenge on the judge in Saw III, while walking through a warehouse filled with tests. Judge Halden was found by Jeff, bound at the neck at the bottom of a vat. In an adjacent vat, several circular saws were activated, and a rotating chain began to drop dead pigs into the saws. A chute connecting the two vats poured the liquefied remains onto the judge. Jeff had to burn all of his son's possessions in an incinerator to retrieve the key needed to unlock the chain across Halden's throat. After trying to reason with Jeff, stating that he had a son of his own and that he could attempt to extend the sentence, Halden was saved from drowning in the ground up pig remains. The judge then followed Jeff to one of his last tests, still trying to comfort Jeff and trying to convince him to save Timothy. As Halden tried to find a way to save Timothy, Jeff accidentally set off a shotgun that fired into Halden's head, resulting in his death. Halden watched as Jeff screamed his forgiveness for Timothy just before dying. According to the final draft of the Saw III script, Halden was written to be in his 50s.

Jeff Reinhart

Jeff was one of Jigsaw's victims in Saw III due to his obsession with vengeance against those that were involved in the death of his son Dylan and the trial of the killer. Jeff was kidnapped and subjected to a series of encounters with those he held accountable for the incident, faced with the choice of helping them to live or allowing them to die in their individual traps. Jeff's final test was a confrontation with Jigsaw himself to prove he had learned how to forgive. Jeff claimed to forgive Jigsaw before cutting open his throat. In killing Jigsaw, Jeff inadvertently killed his wife Lynn by triggering her trap. Jigsaw's final message was for Jeff to undergo another test to save his daughter Corbett but he was killed by Agent Strahm before he was able to do so.

When asked whether he liked his character even though he hesitated in saving people, Angus Macfadyen said, "Yeah, well, I think it's kind of set up in the film that even though you think he could save them, even when he tries to, it's set-up so it all seems a little too late. That was something we were discussing was how long do you wait and pause? Because if you've done that in one room, you know you can't do that in the next because otherwise it's going to be too late for that person. So we were having lots of debates. And also because each scene, you can't play them all the same. You've got to build in each one. So did I like him? I don't think he liked himself very much."

Jill Tuck-Kramer

Jill Tuck is John Kramer's ex-wife who divorced him after he became increasingly distant and cold following the miscarriage of their son, violently caused by Cecil Adams. She was initially suspected of having aided the Jigsaw Killer or in fact being the killer. After John's death, Jill visits his lawyer to hear his final will, during which she is bequeathed a box containing his last intended games and victims including one that needed Jill to test herself. Submitting to his final wishes, Jill placed Mark Hoffman in a seemingly unwinnable game before leaving the scene.

Lynn Denlon

• Portrayed by Bahar Soomekh.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV, Saw V

Lynn was an ER doctor who was kidnapped in Saw III and tasked with keeping John Kramer/Jigsaw alive until the completion of his latest "game." Lynn was placed in a collar rigged with shotgun shells, which would detonate if she moved too far from Jigsaw or if his heart monitor flatlined. She performed extensive surgery and care to ensure he stayed alive until Jeff Reinhart completed his three tests. Lynn was supposed to be released when Jeff finished, but ultimately Jigsaw's apprentice Amanda Young refused, believing that she had not learned anything from her experience and jealous of the attention Jigsaw had shown her. Lynn was critically injured by a gunshot from Amanda before being revealed as Jeff Reinhart's estranged wife. Jeff then killed Amanda and Jigsaw, unknowingly activating his wife's trap, destroying her head. In Saw VI it is revealed that Hoffman blackmailed Amanda into killing Lynn, to remove his competition as Jigsaw's apprentice.

Mark Hoffman

Mark Hoffman is a detective who used his knowledge of the Jigsaw crimes to murder the man who killed his sister while placing the blame on Jigsaw. In Saw IV he becomes a participant in Daniel Rigg's test before revealing himself as one of Jigsaw's apprentices by freeing himself from his trap. Hoffman held the legacy to the Jigsaw killings and continued to operate 'games' set out by Jigsaw before his death. Despite framing Peter Strahm for his crimes, Hoffman is discovered to be the last Jigsaw killer, forcing him to kill everyone who knows. While watching the end of his current game, he is assaulted and placed in a trap by Jill Tuck and left to die.

According to producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg, Hoffman was named after late Saw producer Gregg Hoffman, who died shortly after the announcement of Saw III.

Timothy Young

• Timothy Young was portrayed by Mpho Koaho.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw VI

Timothy Young was a drunk driver who had accidentally hit and killed Jeff Reinhart's son, Dylan. Timothy only received 6 months in prison for his crime due to an apparent lack of witnesses present at the trial (Danica Scott, the only witness, fled the scene at the time it happened), and it was later revealed that he was a medical student and was on his way to becoming a doctor after being released from prison. He appeared in Saw III kidnapped and placed in a cross-shaped mechanism Jigsaw called "The Rack", based on a torture device of the same name, which began twisting Timothy's hands and feet around in a 180 degree angle, breaking his bones before beginning to twist his head around. To the right was a glass box; inside was a key tied to the trigger of a shotgun. Jeff would have to "take a bullet" for Tim if he wanted to save his life. Jeff removed the key while avoiding the shotgun's blast, but he failed to locate the lock in time and pleaded for the trap to stop before Tim's neck was broken. According to Jigsaw, Timothy was 27 when he died. Mpho Koaho returned briefly as Timothy in Saw VI, and was shown being put into the Rack trap by Hoffman.

Troy

• Troy was portrayed by J. Larose.
• Appeared in: Saw III, Saw IV

Troy first appeared in Saw III as a victim in one of Amanda's first known traps. According to the tape played in his test, Troy had been sent to prison multiple times despite a good upbringing although the charges for his imprisonment are not mentioned. His multiple prison terms are what made him a target for Jigsaw. Waking up in an empty classroom, he found himself bound by eleven chains hooked through his flesh and bones in numerous places, including his hands, arms, shoulders, obliques, Achilles tendons, and mandible. He was forced to attempt to tear them all out and escape before a bomb went off in the room, but was unable to get the chain out of his mandible in time before being blown to pieces. Detective Allison Kerry, Detective Mark Hoffman, and Lieutenant Daniel Rigg later investigated the gruesome scene, realizing that Jigsaw was not responsible for the trap, as it had no escape. The door to the room had been welded shut preventing him from exiting even if he had removed all the chains from his body.

Troy was later seen in a flashback in Saw IV, in the waiting room of Jill's clinic.

Saw IV

Art Blank

• Portrayed by Justin Louis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw V

Art first appeared in Saw IV. He was a lawyer and was originally involved in a business relationship with John Kramer before he took the mantle of Jigsaw. They were working on the development of houses together before John's unborn child was killed and John spiraled into depression. In his duties as a lawyer, Art successfully defended several people who were guilty of the crimes with which they were accused. This included Brenda (a pimp), Ivan Landsness (a rapist), and Rex (an abusive husband and father). These criminals appeared as victims of traps during the events of Saw IV. He was also Jill Tuck's lawyer.

Art first appeared in a trap with Trevor. After killing Trevor, Art escaped, but went missing for a period of two weeks, during which he was forced to become an unwilling pawn in more of Jigsaw's games. For example, a motel room was rented out to him, where a large amount of equipment was slipped in piece by piece to build a complex trap for Ivan. Art later showed up to try to keep detectives Matthews and Mark Hoffman alive until Daniel Rigg's final test was complete. After the timer for the test expired, Art would have been able to free himself from the threat of a device holding a pair of pincers at the back of his neck that would sever his spinal cord, while also freeing Eric and Hoffman. However, Rigg's interference led to the failure of the test which killed Detective Matthews. Rigg, believing Art to be pulling a gun on him, fatally shot Art in the head, but not before he activated what was really a new tape, revealing the truth about Rigg's game.

Brenda

• Brenda was portrayed by Sarain Boylan.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Brenda appeared in Saw IV as the victim of a trap, with numerous pictures hung around the room revealing her to be a pimp. Daniel Rigg was instructed to simply walk away from the trap, while Brenda was informed that if he saved her, she would have to kill him to avoid arrest. After her scalp was partially torn back by the trap, Rigg managed to save her. As he ran to get a towel, she grabbed a knife and began swinging at him, but was thrown into a mirror. She was later found dead. It was later revealed that Art Blank was her lawyer who helped her avoid legal prosecution for her crimes.

Cecil Adams

• Portrayed by Billy Otis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw VI

Cecil appeared in Saw IV as a habitual addict, hustler, and thief. He was shown to play a major factor in John Kramer's transformation into the serial killer Jigsaw. He threatened Jill Tuck, John's then-wife and an employee at a drug clinic, in order gain access into the clinic at night to steal items. He caused her to miscarry her baby during his escape by slamming a door open with her behind it, crushing her unborn child. He initially appeared remorseful as he had no intentions to harm Jill, but he quickly began to panic and ran away. The loss of their child made Cecil a target for John's first trap.

John put Cecil in the knife chair and instructed him on how he could escape, stating that he wished to make Cecil as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside. Cecil pushed through the knives, severely cutting his face in the process. The trap appeared to collapse, and freed Cecil. He then lunged at John, but John dodged out of the way, which caused Cecil to land in a pile of razor wire, which killed him.

In Saw VI, it is revealed that he had robbed Jill's clinic because Amanda Young had requested it.

Ivan Landsness

• Ivan Landsness was portrayed by Marty Adams.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Ivan appeared in Saw IV as the clerk of the Alexander Motel. He was suspected of multiple, vicious rapes but freed repeatedly due to the efforts of his lawyer, Art Blank, Ivan was to be part of Daniel Rigg's second test. Following instructions, Rigg confronted and abducted Ivan, threatening him with a gun while forcing him into an adjoining motel room. There, they were both confronted with photographic evidence of Ivan's crimes, including a video recording of him raping a young girl. Enraged, Rigg instructed Ivan to place himself into the trap laid out across the bed, and supplied him with the tools to escape. As the sixty-second timer for the trap was activated, Ivan blinded his right eye, but he failed to activate the second switch in time. The device sprang to life, and Ivan was torn apart, his right leg and arms removed from his torso, his left leg was not fully removed and he was torn off the bed by his last limb.

Lindsey Perez

• Portrayed by Athena Karkanis.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw VI

Lindsey Perez was an FBI agent. With information provided by Allison Kerry before her death, she and Peter Strahm took over the Jigsaw case eventually investigating the disappearances of Daniel Rigg and Mark Hoffman. As they followed clues left for Rigg, it became apparent that they themselves were being targeted by Jigsaw. Confronted with a Billy doll and a tape for Perez, Perez failed to heed Jigsaws warning and the Billy dolls face exploded, impaling Perez in the face and neck with shards. In Saw V it is implied that Perez had died from her injuries, her last words being "Lieutenant Hoffman", leading to Strahm's initial suspicion regarding Hoffman.

In Saw VI, Perez is shown to have survived her injuries and rejoined the Jigsaw investigation. Dismissive of Strahm being Jigsaw's accomplice, she and Dan Erickson investigate abnormalities in evidence found that implicates Strahm and a distorted tape made by Hoffman in creating his own trap. The tape was decoded revealing Hoffman's voice, forcing him to act, killing Erickson before repeatedly stabbing Perez. Hoffman then sets fire to the room to destroy the bodies and evidence.

Morgan

• Morgan was portrayed by Janet Land.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Morgan, a school teacher, appeared in Saw IV as the wife of a suspected physical abuser, Rex. Despite evidence, the police were unable to act upon her husband because both she and her daughter, Jane, refused to testify against him. Morgan was later put into a test with her husband involving numerous rods pierced through them. Jigsaw suggested that Morgan should free herself from her ties with her husband, as they had been harmful both to herself and her daughter. She did so by removing all but one rod, killing her husband in the process (the rods were strategically placed throughout their bodies so that while her injuries would eventually cause her to slowly bleed to death, removing hers would pierce vital arteries and veins in her husband, which would kill him). She was found unconscious by Daniel Rigg, who then handed her the key to her locked harness and told her that she had to save herself (an alternate cut also showed Rigg removing the last rod pierced through Morgan before handing her the key). Rigg then left for his next test after pulling a fire alarm and leaving. When found by Agents Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez and their forensic team, Morgan stated that Rigg saved her.

Peter Strahm

• Portrayed by Scott Patterson.
• Appeared in: Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI

Peter Strahm was an FBI Agent assigned to the Jigsaw case. Strahm was the first to theorise that Jigsaw may have had more than one apprentice and following the murder of Allison Kerry he became obsessed with stopping the killings. Pursuing Daniel Rigg as he engaged in his own game, Strahm eventually found Jigsaw and Amanda's corpses and killed Jeff Reinhart in self defense. Strahm continued his pursuit of the final apprentice but was captured and placed in a game set to kill him but managed to escape. Suspicious of Hoffman, Strahm continued his investigation but was crushed to death in a trap when he again failed to follow the rules. Hoffman later frames Strahm as the last apprentice, placing his mobile phone at a Jigsaw crime scene and using his recovered, severed-hand to place fingerprints on Jigsaw victims and traps. Though his partner Perez and boss Erikson both discover his innocence, they are murdered before they can act on the information leaving Strahm as the suspected final Jigsaw apprentice.

Rex

• Rex was portrayed by Ron Lea.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Rex, a school teacher, was the abusive husband of Morgan and was also suspected of abusing his daughter, Jane. However, since neither Morgan nor Jane testified against him, he was never sentenced. Rigg ended up punching Rex after talking to his daughter about her bruises. Art, Rex's lawyer, threatened Rigg with a lawsuit but dropped the matter after Hoffman backed Rigg's claim of self-defense. Rex was later put into a test with his wife, in which he was doomed to die if Morgan tried to free herself. Rex bled to death as Morgan proceeded to try to escape.

Trevor

• Trevor was portrayed by Kevin Rushton.
• Appeared in: Saw IV

Trevor appeared in Saw IV as a victim placed in a trap with Art Blank. He awoke with eyes sewn shut. He unknowingly had a key stuck to the back of his neck that would have freed both himself and Art. Trevor attacked Art thinking he was a threat, but Art killed Trevor, retrieved the key and saved himself from the device they were chained to.

Saw V

Ashley

• Ashley was portrayed by Laura Gordon.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Ashley was a test subject in a game in Saw V, which involved five participants. In the first room she was the first to wake up, and warned the others not to move. Early in the movie Charles revealed that she was an ex-fire inspector. In the first game, Ashley is unable to get the key to free herself due to the rest of the group struggling to get their keys, which resulted in her being decapitated. It was later revealed that, during her work as a fire inspector, she was bribed to write a false report on the fire that Mallick set so that it would appear to be an accident which cost her job.

Brit

• Portrayed by Julie Benz.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Brit was the victim of Jigsaw's game in Saw V. The Vice President of a real estate company, Brit and the other victims in the game were forced to survive a series of traps where one person would be sacrificed to save the others. As the victims struggled to work together Brit formed an alliance with Mallick to survive the traps with Brit killing one of the victims herself to escape one game. In the final test, Brit realised that all the victims were connected through a building fire Brit had orchestrated, resulting in the deaths of its inhabitants. Brit and Mallick were forced to severely injure themselves in order to provide enough blood to escape the game. Dan Erickson found her crawling from the trap, proceeding to call for medical assistance.

Charles

• Charles was portrayed by Carlo Rota.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Charles was a victim in a game in Saw V which involved four other people. He was shown as a smart man who knew information about the other participants of his game, but did not reveal how he knows these things, until later, when he revealed that he was a reporter for a news column called The Herald. After Mallick went for a key in the first room, Charles pulled him back and got his own key. In the second room he and Brit analyze the room. However, when he believed one person had to die, he hit Mallick with a bar to get a key and attacked Luba when she tried to stop him, claiming it was a "survival of the fittest". However, Luba knocked him over the head with a bar which caused him to drop the key and fall to the ground while Mallick was able to get to safety. Seconds before the bomb goes off he realized that the traps were meant to get them to work together and five people could have fit in the three safe zones, but he was killed before he could tell the others what he figured out. It was revealed he was writing a report on the fire incident and Mallick knew about it.

Dan Erickson

• Portrayed by Mark Rolston
• Appeared in: Saw V, Saw VI

Erickson was in charge of the Jigsaw operation at the FBI level during Saw V. After Strahm survived the water trap, Erickson informed him that he is no longer on the case and told him to go home and take some time off. However, later that night he saw Strahm in the building walking out with some items. Strahm told Erickson that he would take his advice and take time off from work. Erickson believed Strahm and went back to his work. Later that night Jill Tuck told Erickson that she thinks Strahm is following her. Erickson attempted to contact Strahm, but Hoffman had taken Strahm’s phone. Hoffman then called Erickson (from his own phone) and told Erickson that Strahm believed there was another accomplice, higher up in law enforcement. Erickson, desperate to find Strahm, put a tracker on Strahm’s cell phone, that Hoffman has placed at the end of a game that was taking place at that time, in an attempt to frame Strahm. Erickson arrived at the room and believed that Strahm was Jigsaw's apprentice. He also found an envelope, which contained pictures of himself inside of it, making it seem like he is the next Jigsaw target. After he found this, he saw Brit and Mallick at the end of their game and called for paramedics to help them.

Erickson returned in Saw VI, doing more of the fieldwork in the latest Jigsaw murder investigation. He revealed that the news of Perez's death was faked in order to keep her safe from Hoffman, as she had figured out his involvement with Jigsaw. As the two agents and an audio lab technician uncovered evidence to link him to the murders, he fatally wounded them both with a knife and tricked Perez into shooting the technician using her as a human shield. He then planted Strahm's fingerprints in the lab and set it on fire to kill them and destroy the evidence.

During the casting of Saw V, William Forsythe was approached to play Erickson, but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts.

Luba

• Portrayed by Meagan Good.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Luba was a test subject of a game in Saw V, along with four other people which involved four rooms. In the first room she is the third to wake up. She attempted to find out what was going on and tried to analyze the traps. She revealed that she came from a rich family, and that she is a city planner. She escaped the first room. In the second room, she and Brit picked up keys, but when Charles stole Mallick's key, she hit Charles with a pole and provided Mallick the opportunity to grab his key to get to safety. In the third room, she was stabbed in the neck by Brit because she "didn't trust her". She was used as a human electrical connector, which activated the door to the final room to open. It was revealed that she was involved in the fire that killed eight people, which linked all five of the participants of the game; a sports team, owned by her father Richard Gibbs, had bribed her to grant permits for a new stadium to be built on the site of the building that burned down.

Mallick

• Portrayed by Greg Bryk.
• Appeared in: Saw V

Mallick, an arsonist and heroin-addict, was one of five victims in the most prominent game in Saw V. Suspicious of the other victims, Mallick managed to make it through most of the traps that were seemingly designed to kill off one of the victims per phase. He was saved by Luba in one test at the expense of Charles' life but she turned on him in another trap. Mallick was rescued by Brit who murdered Luba and the pair used Luba's corpse to complete that phase of the game. In the final test, Mallick understood his connection to the other victims was through an incident, orchestrated by Brit, in which he burned down a supposedly abandoned building, killing eight people and leaving him guilt-ridden. Mallick and Brit, realising that the victims had been meant to work together to reach the final game, were forced to bi-sect their arms in a saw to provide enough blood to the device and end the game in time. The game over, Mallick passed out from blood loss as Brit crawled out of the room.

Pamela Easton-Jenkins

• Appeared in Saw: The Video Game, Saw V, Saw VI

Pamela is a reporter following the Jigsaw killings who first appears in Saw V, attending a press conference held by Mark Hoffman. In Saw VI she is seen pursuing Jill Tuck for an interview about Jigsaw, presenting her with a letter found at an earlier Jigsaw crime-scene, later revealed to be that given by Hoffman to Amanda. She is kidnapped and placed at the end of William Easton's game. When William reaches the end, he is confronted by Pamela, who is revealed to be his sister, and the family of a man whose medical insurance had been denied by William, in part leading to his death. The man's son activates a device which kills William as Pamela watches. Pamela also appears in Saw: The Video Game, providing information to another journalist, Oswald McGullicuty, who planned to write a book and not credit Pamela. Knowing this, Pamela steals all his notes, preventing him from writing the book. Despite her relationship to William Easton, the game and films show her last name as Jenkins, leaving her surname unclear.

Seth Baxter

Seth Baxter was the boyfriend and murderer of Hoffman's younger sister. After serving five years of a life sentence in prison, he is released on a technicality. Hoffman, enraged by the death of his only family, kidnaps Seth and puts him in a trap that mimics Jigsaw's methods. Seth did what was asked of him and crushes his hands, but a pendulum blade, which was swinging back and forth, sliced him in half anyway. Just before he was sliced in half by the pendulum, Seth turned his head to see an eye watching him from a hole in the wall. Hoffman had designed the trap to torture and kill him in order to avenge his sister's death.

Seth's game plays a vital role in Saw VI. After some doctors find some differences between Seth's corpse and other Jigsaw victims, the FBI begin to get suspicious on whether if some of the victims were true Jigsaw test subjects or not. This leads Detective Erikson and Agent Lindsey Perez (previously thought to be dead) to delve into previous Jigsaw cases, and bring Detective Hoffman into the investigation. They come to find out that the voice on Seth's tape is a fake, and they attempt to unscramble it, trying to pinpoint whose voice it was. As Hoffman begins to get nervous about his cover being blown, Perez and Erikson begin to question him. As soon as the voice on the tape is unscrambled and it is revealed to be Hoffman's voice, Hoffman attacks the three detectives. He slashes Erikson in the neck, and throws hot coffee into Perez's face. He shuts the lights out for cover, and uses the forensics expert as a shield against Perez's gunfire. He then stabs Perez in the stomach, asking her who knows about him. Her dying words are, "Everyone." After she dies, Hoffman uses Strahm's severed hand to place fingerprints at the scene, further incriminating him, and then douses the police pricinct in gasoline. He then sets the building on fire, burning the corpses, and leaves.

Saw VI

Addy and Allen

• Addy was portrayed by Janelle Hutchison; Allen was portrayed by Shawn Ahmed.

Addy, William's secretary, and Allen, his file clerk, were placed into the second of his four tests. They stood side by side on small ledges, with barbed wire nooses around their necks, and William had to pick up two chains that were connected to the ledges. Addy was in poor health but had a family, while the younger Allen had none but was in good health. In order to move on, William had to drop one chain and let that person die. He ultimately chose to save Addy, allowing Allen, who's outraged at William's betrayal of his life, to bleed and strangle to death when his ledge retracted.

Brent and Tara

Tara and Brent were the widow and teenage son of a man named Harold whose health insurance policy was revoked by William Easton, ultimately leading to his death. They were captured and placed in one of two cages at the end of William's series of tests, with Pamela Jenkins in the other. Each cage contained a tank of hydrofluoric acid and a switch with positions marked "Live" and "Die." Once William reached the end, Tara and Brent were given the choice of sparing his life or ending it. Despite expressing anger for her husband's death, Tara listened to the pleas for mercy from both William and Pamela and could not bring herself to throw the switch to "Die." However, a sudden rage prompted Brent to do it himself, triggering a group of needles to swing down into William's back and inject him with hydrofluoric acid. Pamela, Tara, and Brent watched in horror as he dissolved from the inside out.

Carousel Room Victims

Aaron, Dave, Emily, Gena, Josh, and Shelby (collectively referred to as "the Dog Pen") were six of William Easton's junior associates, who did the investigative work to weed out health insurance applications and claims that should be denied. They were placed into the last of William's four tests, chained to a carousel and facing a shotgun. William could choose two of them to be saved, by pushing buttons that would drive spikes into his hands, while the other four would die. If he did nothing, all six would be killed. They argued and accused one another of trying to win William's favor as he struggled with his decisions. Ultimately he chose to save Emily, for having a family at home, and Shelby, after being desensitized to the killings and the pleading for her life. Aaron, Gena, Dave, and Josh were left to die in that order. Josh became outraged and angry at William for choosing Shelby instead of him, criticizing him and shouting for William to look him in the eye as he prepared to die.

Debbie

• Debbie was portrayed by Caroline Cave.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Debbie is the attorney who works for William in his insurance firm. She is found in the Steam Room Trap by William with a device attached to her chest that will discharge a spear in 90 seconds, impaling her through the head. In order to survive, she must make her way through a maze, with William helping her by diverting jets of scalding hot steam away from her and onto himself. She makes it through to the end of the maze, severely burning herself in the process. The two then try to look for a key that will free her of the device. It is revealed in photos and X-ray films that the key to her survival was inside of William. Debbie then picks up a nearby circular power saw and attacks him. They struggle for a little while, and soon, the timer to her device expires and she is killed.

Hank

• Hank was portrayed by Gerry Mendicino.
• Appeared in: Saw VI

Hank was the janitor who cleaned William Easton's office in the Umbrella Insurance building. When William awoke after being captured, he found himself facing Hank; both men were suspended upright with vises clamped onto their chests and breathing masks on their faces. Videotaped instructions from Jigsaw revealed that Hank smoked heavily, despite a history of health problems, and that only one of the two men could survive. Every time either man took a breath, the vise on his chest would tighten. William urged Hank to hold his breath as long as possible, but Hank's smoking habit had reduced his lung capacity. He eventually began to gasp for breath, leading to his ribcage being fatally crushed.

Simone and Eddie

• Simone was portrayed by Tanedra Howard; Eddie was portrayed by Marty Moreau.

Simone and Eddie, two predatory lending bankers, took part in a test in Saw VI in which they were placed in adjoining cells. Since they had figuratively extracted their "pound of flesh" from loan recipients who could never pay them back, they would literally have to do the same in order to survive. Each victim wore a head harness with screws poised at the temples, and had an assortment of edged implements on hand. A balance scale was placed between the two cells; whichever captive cut off the most weight in body parts and threw them onto the scale in 60 seconds would live, while the other would be killed by the screws boring into his/her skull. Eddie, being overweight, sliced several chunks of flesh from his stomach, but Simone severed her left arm and tipped the scale in her favor, leading to Eddie's death. Simone survived and was later questioned by Hoffman and the FBI in her hospital room.

William Easton

William Easton was an insurance executive who was a target of Jigsaw's tests. The company William worked for was responsible for John Kramer's medical coverage which denied him funding for experimental treatment of his cancer. William's tests involved him making similar decisions about who would live and die from his work-life before a timer ran out or else he would be dismembered by explosives chained to his limbs. Completing his tests he discovers the game was not meant for him but for the surviving family of a man whose coverage had been cancelled by William. Though his captured sister, Pamela Easton-Jenkin's protestations convinced the wife to spare William, her son activated the device which impaled William on a series of needles which pumped acid into his body, dissolving his flesh and killing him.

Jigsaw's victim in the 2003 promotional short. This character played the part of Amanda in the short film, which was an early version of the Jaw Splitter scene. He was portrayed by Leigh Whannell, who portrayed Adam in the first official film.

Melissa Sing

Melissa is the widow of Detective Steven Sing, who was killed after having his head blown off in Saw. She was saved by Tapp, but later revealed in the Truth ending, she was held against her will and forced to work for Jigsaw and keep the game going until 6:00, or her son would die. She is killed by a shotgun trap in the Truth ending but was saved along with the other victims in the asylum in the Freedom ending.
