The edition is that 32 teams face each other in a league, Madrid are the defending champions and have their 16th title with 176 Points and a GD of +145 and 267 goals scored which means that they will qualify for their 16th UEFA Super Cup in 2024, with Liverpool also qualifying there with 167 Points and 134 GD, that means that both these sides will play in a semi-final match up in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. Man City and Bayern Munchen both play in a play-off against the top 2 Europa Club League team being Marseille and Ajax

Just like last season, teams will have a 3 week break due to winter weather reasons which would cause danger in major competitive games

Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah are currently the joint-top scorers with 45 goals to their name with Real Madrid having the most goals scored (267) and secured qualification to the UEFA Super Cup in 2024 in Turkey. Antwerp who are the worst ranked team in UEFA respectively created the biggest shock of the season by finishing in a higher mid-table spot in their first season by beating Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk. Atletico had a bad run of form with them being 6 games winless (4 loses and 2 draws) becoming the first team from Spain to have this record in the last 6 games since Barcelona in the 2019-20 season having finished 4th that same season.

Summary

[edit]
Real Madrid won the most UEFA Club League titles (17)

As of right now, Real Madrid are on top with 91 points, winning 30 and drawing 1 and losing 1 and having 30 more games left

with them winning Man City, PSG, Liverpool, Bayern, Leipzig, Sevilla, Belgrade, Galatasaray and more. They are the fastest team to reach

90+ points (3

2 games). In September 23, Liverpool visited the Etihad Stadium to play vs rivals (Manchester City) the UEFA's Video Assistant referee (VAR)

Simon Hooper, failed to intervene Darwin Nunez's legitimate goal that was wrongfully called Offside, with that, Liverpool lost 3-2 and PGMOL admitted that it was a "human error". It was revealed that Aleksander Ceferin (The President of UEFA) clarified that the referees did not incorporate with VAR team for these decisions. Despite this, the referee had a 2 game suspension due to these errors. In December 25, Barcelona played Paris Saint-Germain in the LLuis Companys Olympic Stadium, PSG were 1 nil up in the 56th minute thanks to Kylian Mbappe, eventually he would suffer an ankle injury due to Araujo bad challenge which resulted in a yellow card. However, VAR check had occurred and the footage almost resulted it in a straight red card but referee (Anthony Taylor) did not intervene with footage and instead left it as a yellow card, this left the fans and players feel furious with this decision and the match officials decided that they'll have to check in VAR footage more closely as this is not the first time this happened this season

Teams

[edit]

Thirty-two teams are competing in this league - the top thirty teams from the previous season and the three teams are promoted from the Europa Club League. The promoted teams are Shakhtar Donetsk, Union Berlin and Sevilla who returned to the topflight after respective absence of one, two and even three years. This is also Union Berlin's first season in the UEFA Club League. With their promotion, Union Berlin were the first german team to qualify to the UEFA Club League after summing up 3-4 years in the Europa Club League after Borussia Dortmund in 2016 (within the UEFA tier pyramid) to the topflight during the UEFA Champions League Era. The promoted teams replaced Villareal, Maccabi Haifa and Roma SC, who were relegated to the Europa Club League after respective 5-6 years during this UEFA Club League Era.

Just 6 minutes and Real Madrid defence was caught napping and Gundogan breaks the deadlock, Barcelona were dominating this game until 57 minutes later where Golden Boy winner (Jude Bellingham) would score a screamer from 30-yards to be exact thanks to Inigo Martinez clearance that was led by that. Real Madrid then would have a response having got 67% of Possession, The Los Blancos would score a winner thanks to another goal by Jude Bellingham which was assisted by Luka Modric due to a bouncy pass to the English golden boy. Death winners

[edit]

This season we have seen too many match winners, take Real Madrid vs Union Berlin as an example, Joselu scored two goals for the Los Blancos but a 75th minute equalizer from Kral saw the game go 2-2 however, Bellingham would play a magical pass to Dani Ceballos, who would squeeze the ball into the net in the 89th minute which would seal a 3-2 win for The white side. Another match came as an upset where Antwerp (the worst ranked side according to UEFA respectively) played against Inter Milan. Lautaro Martinez would strike first for Inter, however 2 goals from Jensen in the dying moments so them win 2-1 against the Blue side of Milan.
