Rallye Sestriere
[edit]The Sestriere Rally or Rallye Sestriere is a discontinued rallying event traditionally organized by the Automobile Club of Turin in February.
The 1956 Rallye des Sestriere went down to Modena (Autodromo), Bologna, Imola (circuit), Rome, Monza, Turin and up again to Sestriere.
The 1957 rally started in Sestriere on public roads to Piacenza, then to Modena, and included regularity tests on the Autodromo and Imola circuits. They continued to Rimini, on to Rome and the Castelfusano circuit, then north to Livorno, Genoa, Brescia and via the Monza circuit to Turin and back to Sestriere.
This rally competition was conceived and strongly supported by Emilio Christillin, then president of ACI Turino, who was also the first winner of the event, on Lancia Aprilia.
