I was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1964. I received my Bsc from the University of Colorado (1988), Msc from Brigham Young University (1992), and my PhD from the University of Calgary (2001). My areas of specialization are sedimentary geology (particularly of coastal and marine strata), and invertebrate paleontology. Molluscan evolution / phylogeny is of considerable interest; the evolutionary history of bivalves seems to get inordinate attention. (!)
