Hello countless, faceless people in cyberspace! I'm wxthewx99. I stumbled upon Wikipedia in early 2005, and became an editor about a year after. The concept of public accessible web-based encyclopedia is terrific in my humble opinion, so that is why I am happy to help where and when I can. You probably stumbled upon my userpage from one of the sports pages I've worked on. Here's a small list of some of the pages I've done the most "damage" on.

My Teams
[edit]As mentioned I'm a die hard sports fan. ESPNEWS is always on in my home, and when it's not on, ESPN or ESPN2 are probably on, or an actual game. I also enjoy watching sports talk shows like Around the Horn or PTI. Woody Paige may or may not be the single greatest sports mind ever. I'm leaning toward maybe, but I could be wrong.
My sports interests are very diverse. It's mainly confined to North American sports, like Baseball, Hockey, Football and Basketball. I also like to watch on occasion PGA Tour golf, or tennis.
I'm not the biggest college sports fan, but, I will watch March Madness and root for those Cinderella teams to give us something magical.
My Teams
[edit]Baseball:
I'm not from Toronto, although I've visited the city many times. (It's terrific town, very clean with some great people). My fascination with the Jays began in the mid 1990s. I missed the championship days of 1992 and 1993, but thanks to ESPN Classic and the internet, I've had the chance to watch those two magical runs. I can't quite place why I became a fan of the Blue Jays, but Roger Clemens and Carlos Delgado remain two of my favorite players from that team.
Now I wait patiently to break from third place in the AL East and make a run at the Yankees and BoSox. And finally now I have some hope to think the return of the glory days will be soon.
I'm from the New York City metro area, so this makes a lot more sense. I became a Mets fan mainly due to my father being a fan, and taking me to bunch of games when I was a kid. I still root hard for the Mets who are also giving me chance to believe. I missed out on 1986, and 1999 and 2000 were hard to swallow. But the Amazin's are back now, and it should be a terrific autumn of baseball.
David Wright and Jose Reyes are so electrifying and such a breath of fresh air to a team that's been quite stale since the turn of the millennium.
- Favorite Moment:
Joe Carter touching em' all in 1993 WS. I've never heard a stadium erupt in cheers louder than that.
- Favorite Current Player:
Roy Halladay, SP Toronto Blue Jays. He is the ultimate story of perseverance. Demoted to A-Ball and coming back to what should have been 3 Cy Young calibur years (2003-2005) years is unheard of. Now he's on year four of terrific pitching.
Hockey
Football
Basketball
