Heber Elliott Basham	La Center, Washington		Basham was a very polarizing figure. Faced several recall petitions, city council was completely divided. In 1937, one such recall was locally dubbed "the Battle of La Center."
Willis Edward Mahoney	Klamath Falls, Oregon	Democratic	While Mahoney often cooled down when in office, his campaigning career was vicious, frequently contemporarily described as "wild," and left massive political fallout.
Thomas Joseph McCarvel	Anaconda, Montana	Democratic	McCarvel's tenure was marked by constant litigation, interpersonal disputes, alleged misconduct, violence, and political fights over labor.
Dr. Frank McGinley Alexander	Hysham, Montana		Dr. Alexander was arrested in 1941 due to his violation to the Narcotics Act. He was allegedly selling off drugs to addicts.
Dr. James William Williamson	Shelby, Montana		Charged in January 1940 for performing a fatal abortion on a Blackfoot girl. He was acquitted later that month.
