Creating Reference Lists
[edit]Many of the Wikipedia[1] pages we might be working on will already have a reference list added.[2] If that is the case, you just need to add new citation information (or fix problem citations),[3] and Wikipedia will take care of the rest for us.
However, if you are working on a new page, or a page that just doesn't have a Reference List added yet, it's pretty easy to create the Reference List.[4]
Creating the Reference List
- Click where you want the References List to go
- Click "Insert" to "More" to "References List"
- This will automatically insert the References List
- You'll see the References List is automatically populated if you have citations already or a note saying there are no references yet if there are no current citations
- Any new citations will automatically be added
- That's it. You've created a reference list
