BooksTime is an accounting and bookkeeping firm providing services for small businesses in the United States.[1] Bookkeeping services make up 80% of BooksTime’s business, with an additional 10% on financial accounting, 5% on business consulting, 4% on payroll processing, and 1% on other services.[2]
BooksTime was founded in early 2016 by Sonya Livshits, Jacob Livshits, and Jesse Gildesgame.[3] BooksTime’s headquarters are in Newton, Massachusetts.[4]
In 2019, BooksTime co-founder Sonya Livshits was named one of the “Top 50 Women in Accounting” by Practice Ignition.[5] The aware recognizes “women who are leading the charge when it comes to advocacy, change and community in their workplace and beyond.[6]” Sonya Livshits is also a member of the Women Business Owners Alliance.[7]
Co-founder Jesse Gildesgame is a member of Founders Pledge, a group of startup founders that make a binding commitment to donate a specific percentage of personal proceeds from an exit event or point of liquidity.[8]
BooksTime is often compared to Botkeeper, another similar bookkeeping service.[9]
