Appearance
Henry Pope was a circuit rider in the Methodist Church of Great Britain. His brother Richard Pope was also a circuit rider for that church.[1]
In 1820, he was assigned to the York circuit.[2] That year, an accord was reached between the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Methodist Church of Great Britain, in which the former withdrew its preachers from Lower Canada, and the latter from Upper Canada. Consequently, Pope was re-assigned to the Melbourne circuit.[1] In 1821, he remained on the Melbourne circuit.[3]
