As a colleague and now biographer of HARTMUT GRÜNDLER, a Tübingen environmentalist and opposer against atomic power plants (who died 1977 by self-immolation in Hamburg), I have been contributing to the German Wikipedia several articles on him and related topics (e.g. the so-called "Dialogue with the Citizens on Nuclear Energy", initiated by him and put into practice by Minister Hans Matthöfer). I have translated the Gründler article into English for Wikipedia.
I am a retired Waldorf School language teacher. I was born in Mülheim on Ruhr in 1933. I became involved in the anti-atomic-energy dispute in 1974. I collected the pamphlets of Prof. Karl Bechert, the "Father of the anti-atomic movement", which I helped to disseminate for seven years, as well as those of Gründler, which are at the basis of my biography.
I am particularly interested in whether Gründler's tragical mortal sacrifice for truth and truthfulness in the energy policy (the true political background of which was widely ignored or concealed by the media in Germany) had any reverberations in the English-speaking world.
