The Stupidz were a punk band from Wickford Essex. Formed in 1978 by Beauchamps school friends Clive Kemp and Mick Overton who were the first punks in the small Essex town and taught themselves the basic 3 chords required.They soon teamed up with vocalist Mark (Rash) Parish and then recruited drummer Phil Kilburn.

They were influenced by the Lurkers ,Wire and the Mekons .The Stupidz frequented the Van Gogh club in Basildon and were contemporaries of the Spurts and the Vandals fronted by Alison (Alf) Moyet and were fixtures at the infamous bungalow in Rayleigh Essex.

The Stupidz played a few local gigs but were relatively short lived.Clive went on to play with the School Bullies and Cry Dyyan whilst Mick and Mark formed the Sodding Hostiles
