Observations

[edit]
GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
   HTML document size: 520 kB
   Prose size (including all HTML code): 89 kB
   References (including all HTML code): 275 kB
   Wiki text: 133 kB
   Prose size (text only): 45 kB (6918 words) "readable prose size"
   References (text only): 36 kB
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
  1. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
    a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
  • Are all Lebanese Arab Christians?
  • went to Rosary Sisters Schools → implies a person is a Christian. Is this a reliable fact?
  • Attendance at Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. → does it follow this university accepts only Christians?
  • attending the Jesuit College of St Joseph in Beirut → accepted only Christians?
  • Consider Mayada El Hennawy. Is she an Arab Christian? Ditto, Nassif Zeytoun. Consider Toni Qattan. The article says he is from Jordan; no mention of religion.
  • Reference 73 does not seem relevant.
  • Reference 179?
  1. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  • The history section is uncharacteristically slim.
  • The history section links to itself. Clarify.
  • The Academia section references solid Arab Christian contributions.
  • The Entertainment section is not as solid as the above. It appears to be name dropping of entertainers.
  • The difference between Academia and Entertainment is that the achievements and contributions are mentioned. Ditto Politics and Press. Both good sections. Consider.
  • Religious Persecution and Regional conflict sections are handled well.
  • The notables section is not well handled. It may benefit from thinning out the many names and inclusion of contributions to human flourishing.
  • the use of Koine Greek in liturgy ... an important distinction.
  • Greek clerical hegemony: there was coverage in the Press.
  • The "demotion" of the Patriarch has been ruled uncanonical by Patriarch Bartholomew, and is not recognized by any Orthodox Church; it has only been (imposed) by the Synod of Jerusalem. Consider.
  • The section on Assyrians. If they are non-Arab, why include this section?
  • State of Palestine: The Vatican and the Catholic Church → are one and the same thing. Drop Catholic Church.
  1. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  1. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  • Page created 8 July 2004
  • Page has 224 watchers
  • Page has 5,362 edits by 1,264 editors
  • 90 day page views = 344,670 with a daily average of 491 viewers.
  • Lot of bots on this page, Anomie Bot, Smack bot, Citation bot, Internet Archive bot.
  • Majority of edits to this page occurred in 2021; 1,301 edits
  1. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
    a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  • 31 images on this page.
  • Infobox Image = File:IconJonArab.JPG = template without license parameter: please specify why the underlying work is public domain in both the source country and the United States
  • File:New Ghassanid Banner.png
  • File:Hunayn ibn-Ishaq al-'Ibadi Isagoge.jpg = template without license parameter: please specify why the underlying work is public domain in both the source country and the United States
  • File:BashirChehab.jpg = copyright issues; author attribution is needed;
  • File:Cyrine AbdelNour 66ème Festival de Venise (Mostra) 6.jpg = tits and ass, hey? Can't see the relevance of this image. Remove it.
  • File:Nasif al-Yaziji.jpg - accepted; more than 70 years after death
  • File:Photograph of Maryana Marrash2.jpg = template without license parameter: please specify why the underlying work is public domain in both the source country and the United States
  • File:Algunos miembros de Al-Rabita al-Qalamiyya.jpg = taken in 1920. (from Robin Waterfield’s The Life and Times of Kahlil Gibran). There is a CC-by-SA copyright release which is not sourced to the author.
  1. Overall:
  • We need to resolve the issues with images mention directly above;
  • At a glance, there appears to be too many images on this page;
  • It is observed in the Entertainment section that there are too many names without contributions;
  • The sections under Arabian Peninsula (Kuwait, Bahrain, North Africa, etc.,) might be profitably condensed into two or three paragraphs;
  • This article makes a valiant effort to capture a very broad swathe of Arab Christians, their works and diaspora, in addition to notation of the different communions and orthodox communities with a well laid out table of the differences between these ecclesial communities. A little cleaning up, drop some superfluous pictures and condense some material will see this go to GA status. --Whiteguru (talk) 11:48, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
