The Lemon Drop Kid was an American Saddlebred who won four fine harness World Championships. He was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Life and career
[edit]The Lemon Drop Kid was sired by Cameo Kirby and out of Miss Chatterbox.[1] He was bought by Jay Utz in 1961.[2] The Lemon Drop Kid won four fine harness World Championships in the years 1956 to 1959. He was driven by Jay Utz, who later purchased him.[3][4] He is the only Saddlebred to have ever been on the cover of Sports Illustrated.[5]
