This Barnstar of Diligence is awarded to WhatamIdoing for swift recognition of one of Wikipedia's chronic puppetmasters, likely saving us all much potential floor scrubbing in the process! Bradeos Graphon Βραδέως Γράφων (talk) 21:18, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
You've put a lot of time and effort into advice and feedback for a new Wikipedian, and I'd like to think it's paying off. My thanks for all your efforts. Emrgmgmtca (talk) 12:03, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Excellent contributions, superb sourcing, high standards and tons o' contributions? Have a barnstar because coupons don't e-mail well. WLU(t)(c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 20:18, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
The Barnstar of Persistence (in flogging that dead horse...)
For your repeated and curt persistence in flogging that dead horse. Stop, desist, it's finished, and had been for quite some time. You've made your point, whether correct or not. The other party has taken your point and either chosen to ignore it, or use your advice. For future reference, don't be so obtuse. Happy editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrAnderson7 (talk • contribs) 00:10, 15 May 2009
It's possible that the above award will be my all-time favorite: the only deeply sarcastic barnstar I expect to get!
The editor in question had copied and pasted (after alphabetizing and partly wikifying) a long, detailed, fully sourced list of AIDS denialist information off of a copyrighted website. The information wasn't acceptable for reasons of reliable sourcing, improper attribution, original research and massive due weight problems, but the copyvio is troubling, too. He was called on his copyvio garbage repeatedly on the article's talk pages, but he brushed off these serious concerns with simplistic denials: Of course he didn't copy it from anywhere. He just happened to type up a list with the same sixty-five items using exactly the same words with exactly the same typos and exactly the same sixty-four sources in exactly the same order as the original copyrighted page. (A side-by-side comparison of the lists is in my sandbox.) This was a major copyright violation by an editor with only a moderate amount of experience, so even though a couple of weeks had passed since the dispute in the article had simmered down, I decided to leave a friendly note on his talk page to discourage any further stupidity around WP:COPYVIO.
The editor's response was to blank my messages from his user talk page and to leave me this barnstar, which was (delightfully) another copy-and-paste modification of someone else's work! He even left in nearly all of WLU's sig (see the immediately preceding barnstar), which has since been corrected for him.
I conclude, for the sociologically minded, that the editor in question comes from a shame culture instead of a sin culture; therefore, it's better to steal and endlessly lie about it than to steal and confess when you're faced with embarrassingly incontrovertible evidence of your crime. To WhatAmIDoing, for her gracious gestures of encouragement, and for her eloquent, rational, and dogged defense of positions consistent with my own - I thank you, friend! Cliff L. Knickerbocker, MS (talk) 01:11, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Hello Whatamidoing! Congratulations on being awarded the Executive Director's Barnstar, which was created for me by my colleague Frank Schulenburg, and which I award occasionally to editors who are making a major contribution to the Wikimedia projects. You've been nominated by User:Jorm (WMF) and User:Moonriddengirl, because, they tell me, you're a "consistently sane and friendly voice" "who does amazing work all around the project." Reading your talk page and edit history, it's obvious that you're a stellar Wikipedian: clear, constructive, prolific and knowledgeable. Thank you, and congratulations! If you, or anyone reading this, would like to nominate someone else for this award, please feel free to do that on my talk page. Sue Gardner (talk) 03:12, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry this is so long after the event, but I want to thank WhatamIdoing for her patient, complete and so very helpful advice on my lame efforts editing parts of Talk:Breast Cancer. She thoroughly deserves a Barnstar/Burger/Furry kitten or whatever she fancies as appreciation for her hard and useful work. Treagle (talk) 17:51, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for dropping a thank you note to one of my students. It is unlikely they'll return to editing, but such messages make it more likely :) Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 18:09, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help at the sources page. I have been rather floundering, for lack of a better word, in the insecticide articles regarding the use of good, solid primary studies in articles. Your advice is very encouraging. xxxooo (I'm a gurl too, so we can hug and kiss) Gandydancer (talk) 21:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Hello, WhatamIdoing. I just felt compelled to leave a barnstar, after I read this comment you made. Cheers. Chickenmonkey 23:03, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
magic tools
Thank you, user with an annoyingly high Intelligence Quotient, for quality articles contributions in MED, VE support, precise language, and for speaking edit summaries, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
It's the small things. A year ago you helped me correct some editing mistakes when another editor was raining on me. At the same time you invited me to the WP:MED project. It's been fun having good people to volunteer with and a meaningful mission to work towards. You're a good person. Thanks. Ian FurstIan Furst (talk) 01:03, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

How about combining a Barnstar with a Christmas Card? That is why this message is appearing on your talk page. Simultaneously and at the same time, this barnstar is conferred upon you because during this past year you worked and contributed your time to improve the encyclopedia. You also have received far too little recognition for your contributions. In addition, this is a small attempt at spreading holiday cheer. I've appreciated all the things that you have done for me.
