This request for comment is intended to resolve some of the anomalies involved in this offer made to Jimbo. Participants are asked to comment both as to whether Wikipedia should accept integration assimilation into a much wider project, and also on some of the practical, legal and philosophical implications of that integration.

Things you might be surprised need to go back into copyright

Most planets/cultures that acknowledge copyright limit it to life and a designated period thereafter. However this has implications for inventions, designs and artworks made by colony organisms, hence the longstanding dispute between your Security Council and the wider community over nuclear weapons<footnote>The colony organism that holds copyright on the Atomic bomb is happy to license it to anyone, provided you pay them one of your culture's "peace symbols" physically delivered to their designated "office" - which is conveniently located just inside the Schwarzschild radius of your nearest super massive black hole</footnote>

The Pyramids. Didn't our Erik warn you about that one? The architect is very much still alive and and holds copyright to her construction and all imitators. But the good news is that she is prepared to release her designs under CC by SA, provided they are repaired, properly maintained and the statue she left of herself restored and repainted. She also has some videos of the stones being transported, but isn't sure whether you'd accept them on Commons as the sponsor's logo is prominently woven into the transporters - though as its only visible in UV you could of course hide that if your compression technology omits that part of the spectrum.

Relativity and lifespan based copyright have some awkward interactions. Traditionalists and others who persist in using slow, just below lightspeed spacecraft have been known to dramatically extend artists lifespans. Most legal jurisdictions regard anyone voluntarily departing on a near light speed journey as being legally dead for copyright purposes, or at least consider it to be a crime for a literary agent to send an unconsenting client on such sublight interstellar journeys - the so called Kit Marlowe law. But unless your Governments amend Earth's copyright law to remove such loopholes, the works of Sun Tzu, Macchiavelli and [name redacted for privacy reasons] will also be going back into copyright.

Your Earth based laws currently don't make provision for the copyright implications of reincarnated or resurrected entities, or indeed new works by entities previously declared dead for copyright purposes (this is particularly germane for the works of some immigrants to Earth like the Michelin Man). Also those of your Governments that operate Freedom of Panorama arrangements really ought to determine whether they apply for objects designed to be viewed in four or more dimensions.

Almost everything that claims it was developed on Earth, except of course for Gothic Architecture, pornography, Pokemon and Moai.

• Fragmentary collection of the pre-Roman Art of the Mediterranean basin (excluding Greece, Switzerland and Carthage)

• Oh and if John Lackland's heirs have kept the pawnbroker's ticket, there's a set of crown jewels to be redeemed - you didn't really believe that story that he'd lost them in the Wash did you?
