Greetings. I'm currently providing cheerleading / cat herding for the futures studies community's Great Wiki Raid of '05, an energetic if somewhat uncoordinated effort to upload a lot of reference material on futures studies and foresight to the relevant pages of Wikipedia, and to expand the number of articles and subcategories related to thinking (and acting!) with regard to the future.

We are trying to document the field, explain the field, and celebrate the field.

Actually, we'd just be happy if as many people who know that history existed knew that futures studies existed.

My background: academically trained in futures studies (MA and Ph.D. in futures studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa); taught futures studies at the graduate level (University of Houston - Clear Lake Masters program in Studies of the Future); member of the executive boards of the Association of Professional Futurists, the European Futurists Conference Lucerne, and the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF), and a Fellow of the World Futures Studies Federation.
