Charles Dawson (born 1864, died 1916) was the English solicitor and amateur paleontologist at the centre of the famous Piltdown Man hoax.
Born in St Leonards, Sussex, into a wealthy family, Dawson followed his father into the legal profession, training as a solicitor and setting up his own practice in Uckfield in 1890 (which is still in business today as Dawson-Hart.
