Liliental was a one-off krautrock supergroup formed in 1978. Liliental recorded and released one album, the self-titled Liliental.
History
[edit]Liliental was a side project of Dieter Moebius, who wanted to record an album with Okko Bekker and Asmus Tietchens. Moebius also wanted this collaboration to be produced by Conny Plank, who also later participated "on the other side of the desk."[1] Two members of Kraan also joined on the collaboration: Hellmut Hattler and Johannes Pappert. They had just finished some work in Conny Plank's studio and were happy to join the collaboration and stay at the studio. The six musicians now all on board had had limited interaction prior, but had few problems together during recording. The album Liliental was noted for its light sound and unusual style, but was well-received despite this.[2]
