About me

I'm a college student in the Pacific Northwest. A big portion of my day includes studying, working, sleeping. My hobbies include a tremendous amount of cooking and baking. I spend most of my time in the kitchen trying new recipes. Another thing to know about me is that I love to read. Some of my favorite authors include George Orwell, Jane Austen, John Steinbeck, Louisa May Alcott... etc.

My Wikipedia Interests

If I were to use Wikipedia in the future, I would take the time to write about my recipes. In my spare time, I am usually in the kitchen recreating family recipes while incorporating one of my favorite YouTuber's ideas, MariYUM's Kitchen, to alter them to mine or my family's liking. If anything else, I would also write about the many talents of underground authors and musicians. Being able to read my favorite books and listening to Men I Trust brings me peace.

Article evaluation

The Rolleiflex has been a very recent interest of mine. About a year ago I was given a version of this film camera, studying it’s origins, the way film is developed, and the camera’s strengths and weaknesses. Even though I have not used this camera much, I had high hopes for Wikipedia’s page to be as informative as ever, so, I visited the Rolleiflex article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: The lack of information on competitors, dead links, and overrepresentation.

Competitors

I've realized when it comes to competitions, most brands will take the time to describe every little feature about their product or service solely to give off the impression that they override those who are in the same business. Surprisingly, there were no citations or link's providing information about who Rolleiflex's competitors are or what they may be competing against. It very briefly describes which camera has had its moment under the spotlight, yet those cameras were manufactured by Rolleiflex themselves.

Dead links

There was only one dead link I had found throughout the entire page. Although there was only one, I had hoped it was not a piece of information that could have led to more questions, or better yet an answer of my own.

Overrepresentation

As much as an in-depth description of a particular object can be helpful, the continuous repetition of the camera’s lightweight body style, frame, and focal length was a bit excessive.

Summary

Overall I give this article a “good” rating. The information was concise and relevant, yet it lacked some important aspects that could have furthered my understanding towards the camera. If there were more credible citations as well as websites attached to this page, it would have been a lot easier to understand.
