Hello, I'm Vortiene. I watch and help maintain most bands listed on the List of power metal bands.
Current Project: Maintain and flesh out the List of power metal bands. Add articles for recent Power Metal bands that have arisen to prominence. Flesh out existing Power Metal band articles.
If you'd like to join in, feel free to add Power Metal bands with articles on wikipedia to the List of power metal bands. They need to have an article on Wikipedia to be placed on this list. They need a reliable reference confirming that they are classified as power metal as well.
Also, we can discuss bands that don't have articles on my talk page if you want to brainstorm bands that are notable.
Feel free to help keep the list of unranked articles as small as possible.
Pages I've written (or to be correct, pages I started):
Finished Project 3
|
---|
Populate all album covers on all album articles in discographies of bands on the List of power metal bands. |
Finished Project 2
|
---|
Check around 500 album articles for correct ranking tags, every artists discography for artists on the List of power metal bands. Insert Metal and Album project tags where there were none. Rank unranked album articles. |
Finished Project 1
|

Rank around 3000 Heavy Metal related articles and ranking many unranked articles in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Metal set of articles. Please tag any articles related to this project with the proper tag so it can eventually be ranked. 1. Most album related articles only have the track listing, press ratings, and an infobox with album art. This is still a 'Stub' class article despite having the most meaningful info, since it doesn't have any real descriptive text of the importance of the album. 2. Band articles without images generally should not be ranked higher than a 'Start' class, unless the content is substantial. 3. You should read the entire article thoroughly before you assign a rank higher than 'Start'. 4. Single paragraph articles are generally still categorized as a stub, despite having some content. 5. Even well written articles should not be higher than C class if they have no references/unreliable references/very few references. 6. If there is another tag on the article for a different project, and the article is unassessed for this project, give it the same rank on that project as you give it with the Heavy Metal Project. This is more helpful than leaving it unranked. 7. If another project (like the album project) is not tagged on a suitable article, tag it and rank both the metal tag and the newly added tag. Another good example of metal-related projects you could tag is the black metal project. 8. An article should not be ranked higher than B without a peer review and a nomination for GA or FA status. |
