Shlomo (Slava) Matatov (born 12 September 1969) – is a singer, instrumentalist, virtuoso and an artist. His performing style synchronizes together European and Asian traditions of Bukharian Jews and Hasid. Originally from Israel, where Mr. Matatov founded and managed “Organization of International Concerts” corporation, he came to the United States in 2004 and founded a vocal-instrumental band “Russian Entertainment USA Corp” that is currently active and consists of 15 people – musicians, dancers, lyricists. The band delivers folk and pop Eastern music to the American listeners.
Mr. Matatov’s experience combines many diverse talents such as writing individualized scenarios, creating different occasion themes, playing various musical instruments, writing songs, hosting events.
As a singer, Mr. Matatov possesses multicultural values and traditions. His repertoire consists of many songs in Bukharian Jewish language, Yiddish, Hebrew, Russian, Uzbek, Tadzhik, and Turkish.
Mr. Matatov plays various unique and rare Eastern Asian national percussion musical instruments, such as doira, tarbukka, daval, qoshnagora, karnai, zurna and ney. He produced a show with Karnai – tube-like huge musical instrument that he brought to the US from Israel.
Shlomo Matatov is not only a singer and an instrumentalist but also a dancer, entertainer and a master of ceremonies. He organizes folk dance shows and participates in numerous festivals. For the past three years, Matatov and his group produced more than 300 concerts, wedding ceremonies, anniversaries and community gatherings.
Mr. Shlomo Matatov actively participates in cultural life of the Bukharian Jewish community. He is an active member of the Bukharian Jewish Community Center, member of the Kehilat Sephardim of Ahavat Achim congregation, and a member of the board of directors of the Artists’ Association under Congress of Bukharian Jews of the USA and Canada.
Musician, singer and producer, Mr. Shlomo Matatov performs at the Jewish community events, weddings, bar- and bat- mitzvahs and other ceremonies and celebrations. He also participates in many charitable actions to support musical culture of Jewish people.
Mr. Matatov also contributes as an organizer and a teacher of a children’s musical group “Hope” that consists of 22 children.
