I work in an academic library. I am fascinated by the growth and accessibility of crowd sourced knowledge. Resources like Wikipedia can have a genuine impact through shared knowledge and the representation of underrepresented groups, individuals and topics. The accessibility of a resource like Wikipedia also makes it a great place to start when you are frustrated with the current sociopolitical climate and do not know where to begin to change things for the better.
