User:Vlad fedorov/Very long philipics
You challenged my translation from Udaff. This is original diff.
1. Do you agree that this text is a continuous text?
"Бабки рулят", "Путин меня не вставляет", "Пацанские распальцовки на стрелках -- всё-таки цивилизованнее, чем заточка в бок", "КГ/АМ", "Западло не отвечать за базар", "Дело ЮКОСа разрулили по понятиям, а не по закону", "Задолбал толкать фуфло"
2. Please translate the following sequential phrases:
"Бабки рулят", ("Everything can be done for money"). Version by Vlad: "Money rule".
"Путин меня не вставляет" ("I do not like Putin")
"Пацанские распальцовки на стрелках -- всё-таки цивилизованнее, чем заточка в бок" (Coming to an agreement in the court of thieves is better than to be killed by Stiletto.)
"КГ/АМ" ((креатив говно/автор мудак) (Your creativity is shit. Author is fucker)
"Западло не отвечать за базар" (One must be punished for making too much noise)
"Дело ЮКОСа разрулили по понятиям, а не по закону" (Fate of Yukos has been decided [by Putin] based on the laws of criminal world, not state laws.)
"Задолбал толкать фуфло" ([You] pissed someone off by promoting nonsense)
Please provide your version below each phrase. Thank you. Biophys (talk) 17:07, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have already provided translation of the original Ellol message and you have diffs to these translations. You even have original Ellol edit, which you have distorted, added words, omitted sentences specifically to make it look like a "threat". Furthermore, website Udaff is not related to the translation of text at all. This site is Encyclopedia Dramatica equivalent, and looking there for "translation" is the last thing that a reasonable man could do. Biophys, aren't you tired of that comedy? Arbitrators may use any other Russian admin to recheck your translation. What you hope for? Vlad fedorov (talk) 17:16, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Incidentally, Biophys, мудак cannot be translated as fucker. http://ru.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%BC%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%BA gives its meaning as "fool, not smart man who says or makes something that shouldn't be done". This is official Russian National Corpus meaning. Learn Russian. Vlad fedorov (talk) 17:22, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Which diff do you mean? That one? It provides your version of only first phrase. Please provide your version for each phrase amd answer first question: yes or no, please.Biophys (talk) 17:28, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Stop flooding my talk page with this, ok? I have written enough about your "translation". If you do state that your translation is true and correct, then I'll be glad to see how Arbcom would evaluate it. Vlad fedorov (talk) 17:35, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Biophys, please, record the following: "Your translation is incorrect, distorts the meaning of original Ellol's message, takes out of context few phrases, contains added by you text, and is just inflated by you to "coded threat". Vlad fedorov (talk) 17:51, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Biophys, I owe nothing to you. Suffice it to say, that you were unable to translate the word "мудак" just an hour ago right on this page. I am able to translate, but would do it when I would consider it appropriate. Vlad fedorov (talk) 18:50, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- There are multiple meanings of individual words, but it does not change the meaning of individual pharses, much less the entire text. For example, "заточка в bок" can be literally translated as "a knife between your ribs", although this is not really a knife, but a narrow instrument (similar to a sharpened screwdriver) commonly used by Russian criminals, sometimes only to damage the internal organs rather than to kill a person. And "распальцовки на стрелках" means only one thing: the thief's court of "honor", after which someone is usually killed.Biophys (talk) 19:50, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Biophys, you assert that your translation is correct and true? If you are sure that your translation is true and correct, then what are you doing here on my page? Your attempts to translate "распальцовки на стрелках" are very pathetic indeed. Thank you again that you demonstrate ingnorance of this phrase. You definitely have never been watching Brigada series and "Bandit Petersburg" series. It is not usual that after стрелка someone is killed, this your "original research" and your inflation of the meaning. Because стрелка is always an attempt to resolve dispute peacefully and not to harm anyone. And стрелка is not necessarily a court of "thiefs", "thiefs" have lost their influence long time ago, nowdays they look like dinosaurs. Here again you attribute to this phrase what you want to attribute. Стрелка could always be used figuratively. Don't you think you need to explain who thiefs are? Or you think that English users automatically understand which meanings the Russian word "thief" has? Anyway, there is no word "thief" in any of Ellol's phrase. This is your inflated translation again.Vlad fedorov (talk) 02:52, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Please provide your translation of each phrase above, and in particular "Пацанские распальцовки на стрелках -- всё-таки цивилизованнее, чем заточка в бок". Why do I know this so well? Because one of people I knew in Moscow was "retired" by precisely this method.Biophys (talk) 04:40, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

- Typical use of these expressions: [2]. Biophys (talk) 05:01, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- толкать фуфло from online dictionary of "thief's slang", and so on and so on.Biophys (talk) 05:09, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Just think for a while over these things:
- Ellol clearly indicated that he wants to understand your level of colloquial Russian language. Yes or no?
- How much time passed before you first claimed you were threatened by Ellol? Just over two months. This clearly indicates that you understood his message correctly, but later decided to use it against him, just because he wasn't very careful in selecting phrases from modern Russian.
- You have made substantial mistakes in translation.
- You have omitted some phrases from his original mesage, e.g. you redacted (distorted) his original message.
- You have added pronouns in brackets [You] in order to make these sentences seem as addressed to you. Although in fact they are not specifically directed to specific person.
- Even though Ellol apologized and offered to work together, you continued to raise this comedy on several arbitration cases.
- In interpretation of Ellol message you assume bad faith.
- Your references to some mystical friends who have been ... are irrelevant to semantical meaning of specific complete message.
- Above links clearly mention 90-ies.
- Nowdays, "забить стрелку" means to agree to meet somewhere. For example, to agree to meet a friend. And it is no more thiefs jargon. And the whole phrase could be used ironically or jokingly in figurative meaning.
- I even without any reference to any dictionary hereby claim that "толкать фуфло" today means "to bullshit" and today it is not indicating that a man belongs to criminals.
- For translation you use dictionaries that suit your purpose better. Why don't you combine all dics? For example 'to lie' here, 'to lie' there. Why you use solely dictionary for old criminal slang? Ellol is not a criminal. Vlad fedorov (talk) 05:39, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- Just think for a while over these things:
- I only asked you to provide your version of translation for each phrase. If I am wrong (as you tell), you should be able to do this. You did not do it.Biophys (talk) 12:47, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- It seemed that you have taken long wikibreak? Don't you. Go, take rest. Read http://teenslang.ru, http://mirslovarei.com at your leisure. Vlad fedorov (talk) 13:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
