Sports
In America, middle School, high school, and/or college has sports that are related to the specific school. In the Netherlands, sports teams are not related to school. There are no scholarships available to go to a University, but they are not necessary because schools in Europe are for the most part, costless. In middle school and high school there are mandatory classes which involve exercising. Since 2008, the education for voorbereid middlebaar beroepsonderwijs has an education where students can graduate with the degree of educating sports [1]
Schedule high school
High school in America has a strict schedule in which every student comes and leaves at the same time, while in the Netherlands the high school schedule is similar the Universities in America. Middle school in the Netherlands is the same system as in America which is a strict schedule with everyone leaving at the same time.[2]
Government funding
A student going to the University of Utrecht, for example, will pay roughly two thousand euros. To lower the cost of education in the higher system, the Dutch government helps the Dutch students.[3]For every student going to higher education, the cost will be half for the first year. This rule was set by the Dutch government in 2018. Some students that started their second year in higher education could also apply to get half of the cost covered. If you are seeking an education to become a teacher, you get the first and second year for half of the cost. This all applies starting in 2018.[4] Some students could reduce their college cost if they register for a particular study and change it within the same year. The government will also reduce the cost when a student is sick or other (big) family circumstances happened that year.[5] Not only will certain students receive money from the government, but also some higher education schools(University) get funds. The branch of government that deals with education is allotted a certain amount of money, and then determines specifically which schools to give it to. Those education institutions then decide how they want to spend that certain amount of money. The government looks into how many students sign into that particular high education school for a bachelor or masters degree. Certain higher education institutions work together with hospitals or design, and this entitles them to additional funding. The education branch of government is given a new budget yearly, and allocates this money to higher education schools.[6]
Mammoet wet
After World War II, the Dutch people wanted to change the education system in The Netherlands dramatically. This initially did not happen until Jo Cals, the minister of education, found the solution. On August 1st, 1968, the law got inforced. The change was very big. The schools designed to educate females about chores in the home and gardening were disbanded. The MAVO, HAVO, VWO got put into place. Also, the criteria on how exams are administered change every year. [7]

Sex education:
Eddy Speeder wants to include accolades regarding sex education in the Netherlands, since it has resulted in the lowest rate of teen pregnancy in Europe. In the source indicated, it states that The Netherlands is one of the lowest, but does not show that it’s the lowest of all European countries. [8]
