The former Oldham Athletic and Mossley central defender, at just 5'6" still managed to make an impact in the air with his performances leading to much high praise from match reporters of the day. Born in Manchester in late 1950 he proved his worth on the pitch but saw his football career cut short following three leg breaks in quick succession.
Following his spell with Oldham Athletic he signed for Mossley where he went on to be named player of the season.
