Village Dabwali is a Municipal committee in Sirsa district in the Indian state of Haryana.
It is located on the border of Haryana and Punjab, and is just a few minutes travel from Rajasthan border. Due to its unique location, Mandi Dabwali provides a blend of cultures from all three states.
One side of this city touches Punjab province, another side by Rajasthan. On the way to this city, the first thing you will see is the Welcome Board followed by a traffic signal. Here comes the actual map. On your right hand side and way ahead is Punjab and if you take left first you will find New City Bus Stand and the same way will lead to you Rajasthan.
Demographics
[edit]As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Mandi Dabwali had a population of 53,812. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mandi Dabwali has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 71%. In Mandi Dabwali, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Languages
[edit]Most of the natives of Mandi Dabwali were rooted in Punjab, so Punjabi is the main language of communication. Also, due to its location and people from different origins, one gets Punjabi, Hindi, English to hear many other dialects like Haryanvi and Rajasthani language.
Religions
[edit]Hinduism, Bishnoi, Sikhism, Jainism, Islam and Christianity are main religion followed by people.
Economy
[edit]The city has been developed as a Mandi for the farmers (a place where they can sell their produce), which is the main revenue source for the city as lots of different businesses depend upon buying the produce from the farmers and then selling it to people as well as to govt.
Apart from the businesses directly involved in the buying/selling of the produce, other businesses also depend upon the same as the farmers travelling to city are the main customers for every kind of market. Moreover it is famous for manufacturing jeeps, inverters & batteries in whole India.
Industries
[edit]There are many big industries for making agriculture implements in Mandi Dabwali, are very famous in 40 km around Mandi Dabwali and also in Rajsthan and U.P, they manufacture all kinds of agricultural implements.
Also the city is well known worldwide for its Jeep Modification divisions on NH-10
Culture
[edit]As far as culture of the city is concerned,is not specific due to different kinds of people Living in the city. They hare and celebrate all the festivals with full harmony and spirit. The youth of the city is very forward and enthusiastic. Western culture is also becoming the part of the city as most of the youth is employed in all the major cities and the giant companies of the India as well as the world.
The city is home to many temples, gurudwaras and other religious places. All the festivals are celebrated with lots of enthusiasm & participation from all the natives.
Notable personalities
[edit]Mandi Dabwali is also famous for home town of Deputy Prime minister of India, Chaudhary Devi Lal and Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala.
