Vigneshwaran PS

Vigneshwaran Perundurai Somasundaram (born 31 December 1990) is an Indian Biomedical Engineer and Healthcare Technologist. Vignesh currently serves as the Consultant in Healthcare Technologies division of National Health Systems Resource Center part of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. since November 2016. Previously, from April 2014 to October 2016, Vignesh was working as a Regional Biomedical Engineer for strengthening and upgrading laboratories for the detection of MDR- TB cases in India, Under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP). During his tenure, he was actively involving in the projects from designing BSL 3 Lab layout to Validation for establishing TB C-DST labs in following sites i.e Madurai Medical College, Raichur Medical College, C&DST lab, Vizag, C&DST lab, Kozhikode. Also Vignesh has professional experience as Hospital Biomedical Engineer and Field Service Engineer for managing medical equipment and interacting with the R&D team on new medical instruments.


Early life and education

Vignesh was born in Perundurai, India. Vignesh is the son of P. S. Somasundaram and K. Saraswathi. He did his Graduation in Bio-Medical Engineering from VCET, Anna University and Masters in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University.


Activities:

Vignesh has provided technical contributions to following guidelines

a. FDI- Guidance document for states for the free implementing diagnostic services b. Guidelines and Request for Proposal for AERB Compliance for Public Health Facilities c. PMNDP- Guidelines for Establishing Peritoneal Dialysis Services d. BMMP- Technical guidance document for in-house support and monitoring of PPP e. Technical Specifications of Medical Devices for 9 specialties includes Radio Imaging, Radiotherapy, ENT, Dental, Ophthalmology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Cardio Pulmonary, Anesthesia and Forensic Departments
