Population

Kankroli city falls in the geography of Rajsamand district in Rajasthan. According to the official Census, 2011 the population was 67,798 of which 35,033 were males and 32,765 were females. Children between ages 0 to 6 are 8121, nearly 11.98% of the total population of Rajsamand.[1]

Population Growth

The population grew by 21.7% from 2001.The male population is 2.2% less than the female population growth which is 22.9%.

General caste occupies 19.3% of the population growth. 36.5% of the population belongs to schedule caste and 29% are schedule tribe.

Sex Ratio

According to official Census 2011, there are 935 females per 1000 males in the city. The ratio has increased by 16 females per 1000 males between the years 2001-2011. The child sex ratio has decreased by 57 girls per 1000 boys during the same period.

Literacy

The total literacy rate was changed by 5.8% in 2011 as in 2001 the rate was 78.4% and it went on to increase to 84.2%.The female literacy rate inflated by 9.1% from 66.3% to 75.4%. Whereas, the male literacy rate grew by 3.1% in 2011 from 89.4% to 92.5%.

The total population engaged in either main or marginal works is 33%. 13% female and 51% of male population is working. From the total male population 47% are full time workers and 4% are part time workers. For female population 8% are full time and 5% are part time workers. Among the total population of the city 67% are non-workers of which 48.6% are male and 86.8% are female.[2]

Economy

The region is one of the prime Indian providers of marble, rock and other significant assortments of stone. The Dariba and Jawar mines are the essential Indian wellsprings of minerals for zinc, silver, manganese, and so forth. A larger part of the population is occupied with sorted out and chaotic mining-related works. Individuals are occupied with tire and tobacco production lines. Small-scale ventures in this region incorporate essentially house and craftsman units in handloom, timberland, calfskin, earthenware etc.[3]
