I am an amateur naval historian focusing on the design and engineering of submarines. I aim to increase the quality of articles on submarines, particularly U.S. Navy submarines designed after 1945. Among other sources of information, I have photographed thousands of pages of Bureau of Ships documents at the National Archives. Because primary source research is not the purpose of Wikipedia, I use these documents as background to evaluate the accuracy of secondary sources.
