Christmas Miracle is a 2012 drama film.
Plot
[edit]Joseph and Mary have been married 15 years and have an autistic son Matt. Joseph has spent too much time at work and he and his wife are now separated. Matt really wants to see his father on Christmas Eve.
Joseph is on his way home in a snowstorm when the road is blocked in a remote location by a fallen tree. Others end up stuck, and help is some distance away. James Mason is a former pastor who lost his wife giving birth to a child who also died. Darryl wanted to study to be a doctor and has worked as an EMT, but his dyslexia prevented him from going further in his education. Madeleine has a husband who spoils her and not only does she want the best of everything, but she constantly complains. Nick and Christy are an idealistic young couple.
Joseph's family used to attend a nearby church which has not been used for years, though Matt still remembers going there. The group walks there and finds shelter and some supplies, as well as a wood stove that can keep them warm. Joseph is able to get through to Mary on a cell phone before the signal goes out, but when Mary comes to help, she too is stranded with the others. As they help each other through the cold stormy night, the members of the group teach each other important lessons, and they all benefit from having known each other. Matt finds out where the group is and sneaks out without his baby sitter realizing it, and he is able to walk most of the way to the church. The members of the group end up searching for him and everything works out in the end. A year later, some members of the group reunite in the renovated church building.

Critical response
[edit]Andy Webb, reviewing the movie for The Movie Scene, called the film "a nice looking movie with an artistic quality" but said while the film "wants to be a touching Christmas movie ... it sadly ends up surprisingly uninteresting and lethargic."[1]
Frank Veenstra called the film "a very safe and clean movie to watch and therefore also terribly ineffective", a good idea but "severely lacking" in how it was done.[2]
Valin Shinyei won for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries, Special or Pilot - Supporting Young Actor at the 34th Young Artist Awards. Siobhan Williams was nominated.
