Inter Plymouth Football Club is a Sunday League football club from Plymouth, England. They were formed in 2017, and play in the SWAZ Teamwear Plymouth and West Devon Football League's Sunday Divisions.
The club take their prefix of Inter from Inter Milan, which was inspired by a number of the players' former club AC Plymouth, who were similarly named after fellow Milan club AC Milan).
Inter are affiliated with Devon FA and in their first season as a club they came 12th out of a 14 team Division Two. Inter now play in Division One.
History
[edit]The club was founded in 2017, with five founding members: Jake Cooper, Sam Courtney, Sam Kenward, Gabriel Langford and Samip Pokharel. Kenward took on managerial and secretarial duties, whilst Langford was named chairman, and Cooper as the club's treasurer.
Ground
[edit]Inter play their home games at Staddiscombe Park, which is a complex of ten football pitches, four of which are for use by Plymouth University only. The grounds, along with the changing room block, are owned and operated by Plymouth City Council, and underwent a massive re-vamp in 2016 to improve the drainage[1] at the site.
Due to the ground's location, winds and mists coming over from the Plymouth Sound are commonplace. The playing fields have a short name of Staddy, and are within very close proximity to the social club The Staddy.
Colours and badge
[edit]Inter took their home kit colour of mainly sky blue from AC Plymouth. This kit's official colours are University Blue and Midnight Navy and are in a Nike Park Derby design. This, Inter's first ever home shirt, was sponsored by Headline Barber, a barbershop on Mutley Plain. The lime green away kit was chosen by sponsor Johanna De Wan Art, and is in a Action & Pine Green Nike Sash design.
The Inter badge was designed by chairman Gabriel Langford as a homage to the Inter Milan badge, with the letters IPFC appearing in the centre piece, similar to how FCIM appears in the Inter Milan badge.
Rivalries
[edit]Inter, despite only having one seasons experience, have some sometimes quite feisty rivalries with Plymouth Athletic, Plymouth Armada and Plymouth United Reserves. This should not be a surprise, as these are the predominant three clubs who Inter competed against for league position in the 17/18 season, with United finishing 10th, Athletic 11th, Inter 12th and Armada 13th.
2017-18 season
[edit]In Inter's first league game which occurred on 13 August 2017, they started with 10 men and lost 21-1 to Central Park Rangers. It took until October 2017 for Inter to get their first league win, a 3-2 victory against Plymouth United Reserves. Inter went on to win 5 of their 26 league games which helped see the club finish with 17 points. That proved enough to avoid relegation for the 18-19 season, as the PWD Sunday section grew to incorporate three divisions.

League results
[edit][a] Inter won their first competitive point in just their third game of the season thanks to a surprise draw with Activate Reserves.[2] Inter had lost their previous two games, 21-1 vs CPR and 4-1 vs Armada, so to draw against an Activate side who could boast a Plymouth Parkway Reserves player was quite an achievement.

Inter's second league win of the season came months later, in the second weekend of March when they surprisingly beat Barbican Pirates by a convincing scoreline of 11-1, lifting Inter off of bottom of the table.[6] From this win, a new vein of confidence hit the Inter squad and a run of good results came in the following months towards the end of the season.
