I am a Clinical Professor of Medical Humanities at Baylor University where I have taught since 2012. Prior to teaching at Baylor, I directed the clinical counseling program for Pathways Volunteer Hospice in Long Beach, California, a post I held for nearly 17 years.

My medical humanities areas of teaching, research, and practice include grief counseling, thanatology (death education), history of medicine, and religion and health.
