To protect privacy, many people create names for Wikipedia editing that do not reveal their real-world identities. They create an alias for themselves, an electronic identity that lives only in the web, with the sole purpose of expanding the world's pool of free knowledge. Wikipedians are writers, scientists, scholars, students on one side of a screen, and knowledge-spreading denizens of web-world on the other side.
Web-denizens like me, the Unicorn of Wisdom, are avatars in the computer sense. A text based incarnation in electronic space of a human higher-being. Which itself is a metaphor for the Hindu avatars, incarnations into mortal space of a divine higher-being.
I am both, as a unicorn-shaped incarnation in electronic space. In reality, I stand in for a higher human as a computer-avatar unicorn. In the lore of my own mythology (to which any decent computer-avatar is entitled) I am an incarnation - still to the electronic plane - of the divine higher force of wisdom.
And as I live in the web and have no physical form or image, I may or may not be pink... but I tend to think of my colorlessness as purple.
At least for now, I will not reveal the identity of the girl behind the curtain. But I will say that she was acclaimed throughout her education as a especially skilled in science, research-essays and writing style. She loves the truth and spreading it to as many people as possible.
