About the UKWebFocus Username [ edit ]
From 1996-July 2013 I worked at UKOLN and my job title was UK Web Focus . I have used that name for a number of social media accounts.
I created my first Wikipedia article, on Rapper Sword dancing, in 2004. I have created and edited a number of other articles since then including articles on Amplified conferences and Microattribution . I have written a number of blog posts about Wikipedia on my UK Web Focus blog .
Since 2013 I have sought to develop my expertise in Wikipedia. I attended the Queen Victoria's Journals University of Oxford editing day in order to gain a feel for how Wikipedia events were organised. I then supported Sphingonet Wiki workshop and attended the EduWiki 2013 conference .
I have received the following awards:
Information World Review's Information Professional of the Year, 2007 [ 1]
Best Research Paper, ALT-C conference, 2005 [ 2]
John Slatin Award for Best Communications Paper at the W4A 2010 conference [ 3]
