Philanthrocapitalism in the digital economy is an information technology issue because covertly, powerful tech corporations dominate and exploit digital infrastructure, data, and technological resources in ways that reinforce global inequalities but under the guise of philanthropic, market-based efforts to address social problems and development.[1]
